-those on the ship begin firing, blasting vast numbers of the spiders to a grizzly pulp. The spiders begin to retreat-
That's it, lads! Give them another volley!
The Danse Macabre CodexNot subtle but it works...

-the spiders break up and flee as another volley of cannonfire carves a vast swath through their ranks-
-cleans his cutlass- I think we be havin' enough wood fer our needs. Let's get this lumber back to the Cutter ere somethin' else sticks its nose in our business.
The Danse Macabre CodexOkay, sir. -carries the wood back on-board-

-helps carry the wood back- Ye did well in the heat o' battle, Master Keybreak. Thar be a future fer ye in this business, mark me words...
The Danse Macabre Codex-carries wood back to the ship-
In piracy, Captain? I couldn't see myself doing this for too long. -drops the wood down by the mast- I only plan to stay on this crew until I've taken a generous enough cut, then I plan to retire to Eter on Quintus Island. Then I shall feel accomplished.
Not a dull moment with this crew...
-Chuckles as he follows with the wood-
Well Mr. Keybreak you should consider it, nothing beats the life if a pirate. I should know...

A terrible loss, then, Master Keybreak. But if that be the way it must be, then I'll not be stoppin' ye when all be said an' done.
Alright, crew, thanks to this little sidetrip we be havin' a slight delay in reachin' the Isle o' Platina. But never fear—once the mast be repaired, Ah'll be loosin' the elemental again an' we ken be on arr way. -walks up to his cabin-
Half the crew, fix up arr new mast an' install it with all haste. The other half, relax fer now, as ye'll be haulin' the Queen off this reef an' inta the water. Dismissed!

The Danse Macabre CodexRight. Let's get to it. -starts working on the mast-
-instructs the rest of the men to go pull the Cutter back into the water, then helps reconstruct the mast- I grow worried for our landing on Platina. It hasn't been easy so far.
You can say that again. Man, I'm thirsty. There better be a good tavern in Platina.
Perhaps, but then would any man worth his salt ever turn to piracy if'n thar be no booty or battle?
-examines the skyline with a sextant- Ah'll be within me cabin chartin' arr course; we seem to be off by a wee bit. -enters his cabin-
night

The Danse Macabre Codex^^-smirks- Arr, you don't speak much like a pirate. Where are you from? -patches on some more wood-
Good night, Captain.

-While helping with the mast-
We just need to get past the graveyard, that's where things get a little...well let's say rough.
-Salutes captain as he walks past-

^A graveyard in the ocean?

I'm suspecting a ship graveyard. Dozens of destroyed ships just littering the region. It may be exceedingly difficult traversing through it.
That's right, there are more areas like this on the way to Platina, this isn't called the Devil's Game for nothing you know.
So far we're off to a good start.
Aye, and what better way to prepare fer it than a hearty meal o' grilled spider!
-hoists up a monstrous barbecued spider leg, now crispy and hairless.-
And I kept the hairs if'n ye likes 'em spicy!
-takes a piece, then washes it down with some grog. To all appearances the captain savoured the meal-
Arr, that be some mighty fine 'lob ye've cooked us thar, Swampmuck! Ah have us a course, lads!
The Danse Macabre Codex-scrunch-
Mmmf. Could use some coral snake sauce.
-shares some with her monkey, and drinks the stew that nobody wanted with it-
Usually here.-pushes away my bowl- I'm not very hungry...captain, aren't you worried about how our luck has been lately? I'm not certain that we will even be able to reach Platina island.
Master Keybreak, if'n Ah be worryin' about me luck every single time summat went wrong, Ah'd never have left the Navy an' become a pirate in the first place! Matter o' fact, ah'd still be a...ugh...landlubber.

The Danse Macabre Codex
-turns to the ship and raises my cutlass, signaling the men still onboard to begin firing the cannons-
