Hmm... So Mab was around back then also? Well, perhaps that explains the gender switch if her magic was involved. Although whether or not it was an intentional boon or a mixup remains to be seen. After all "Bridget" did have a crush on Dan although Jyrras isn't the most reliable source on relationships and could have gotten that completely wrong.
What are you on about? Biggs San — full name known for ages: came out at the end of the arc he was introduced... as did his relationship with Wildy. They even had a "just give me money for my birthday, you dork" brother-sister interchange years ago.
This is really not news. Nor is "he's a humongous Troll who would crossdress just to mess with people".
Then I'm completely lost. What the hell is that "You were Bridget back then" and Dan didn't recognize him from when they were kids all about? Bridget is a girl's name. "Bridget" even had a crush on Dan, according to what we were just told. So what the hell is going on? You're actually saying even though they grew up together as kids, Wildy went along with her brother making everyone believe he was a girl and crossdressing just to mess around with everyone?

He dressed up as a girl as part of a scheme to appeal to Dan's Chronic Hero Syndrome, remember?
Darn it, I don't. There has to be a trope for a plot so full of hidden agendas, old grudges and people working at cross purposes that you want to take a weedwhacker to it. Reminds me of when I'd ask the wife about something happening in her soap operas and 15 minutes later she's still going on. But I do love the characters and artwork in this cartoon. I just wish it made more sense.
I'd say this goes beyond a "dressing up as a girl" thing. Especially when Jyrras also claims that Wildy never mentioned a brother.
Also, Ambaaargh's response suggests that this is something more than a simple joke.
Of course it was more than a joke; it got Dan away from home just when it was dangerous to be there, and also got his mother time to see her little boy. And, probably a few other things besides (it would have benefited him in some way in the Territories and the Shadow Council, too, I'm sure). Biggs tends to do things for multiple reasons... And, for the lulz. Messing with Dan is a San family tradition!
He's much like Wildy, but on a larger scale.
I'm sorry but I have no idea what you're on about. Not in all of the 51 strips, and yes I did count them, he's been in do I see anything remotely pointing to him having cross-dressed to trick Dan.

He could have pulled a similar stunt without dressing like a girl. Dan would still have taken the bait, given the fact that Lexi was involved.
But, no: he picked the girl route to disguise himself (and, it wasn't that great a disguise: Dan was probably supposed to see through it at some point, but never did: no squick-out — awww). Dan just never twigged how much Bridget looked like another friend of his, nor joined the dots on why.
I read it as tit-for-tat. Hence... "messing".
OK, I"m determined to figure out what the heck's going on. I went back through the archive as much as I could, and it's Dan who dressed as a girl and Biggs was male Biggs all the way and that was the first time they appeared together. In a flashback Dan trains and starts his career as an Adventurer when he's kidnapped and there's no mention of a Bridgett or Biggs. Yet we're told Bridgett had a crush on Dan and they knew each other. Bridgett must have disappeared from Dan's life about the time Biggs was exiled. Since it's never mentioned, Dan must not have returned the crush.
In other words, given the screwy world they live in, Biggs and his family were either pretending he was female as a child for some reason and doing a good job of it, or Mab's magic changed him to a man when he left. Or am I somehow missing something obvious?

I don't think you're missing anything relating to the Biggs/Bridget situation. Though for general clarification Dan, Mab, Wildy and, closer to teens, Jy were all established to have been friends as kids and here Biggs mentions that he was part of that group. That raised the question of why Dan didn't recognize him which 'sex change' answers. That said there's nothing pointing to Mab being behind it, though she well could have.
And, just to repeat myself, there's nothing pointing to him ever having cross-dressed to fool Dan.
He's a San. There's a chance of silly snakes and something worldview-shattering.
So what kind of metal bits are those really? Magic-less metal bits?
I was right. Magic-free metal. I wonder what Mab knows about that that would help Jy?
This is going dragon-killing, isn't it? :/
Seems like anti-everything. Sure makes this comic in a different light.
Oh geez, wow. I'd totally forgotten about that particular subplot. I only remembered the earlier parts about the shadowy council freaking out over Jyrras' nonmagical devices.
Looks like Skirmish isn't happy about having to apologise.
And Ms So-Not-Shapeshifted's day just gets more and more aggravating...
