As a proud Entry Pimp of all things Duck-related, I have noticed (by clicking on Donald Duck's "Related To" page) that there are loads of instances where "Donald Duck" is referred as the universe's title, when the page is about the character himself. I can understand this happening due to Donald's popularity letting people think of him as the verse star, and there's nothing wrong with that; plus, there are thousands of Duck stories where Scrooge isn't featured at all.

To avoid all of this confusion, I wonder if something simpler, like Duck Universe, wouldn't be a better option. I've heard somewhere that the trope was titled in honor of Scrooge due to That Other Wiki doing the same first, but: a)It's, by no means, the universe's official title b)It's since been retitled to "Duck Universe" as well.

Not that I know off, but the much revered I.N.D.U.C.K.S does list it as Ducks Universe. It also seems like there are more stories with Donald than with Scrooge in existence, according to the site's statistics.

Takin' a look at many a trope page, several of 'em address the universe as "Donald Duck comics", even if the actual example showcases Uncle Scrooge, Gyro Gearloose or someone else. I'd say Donald's considered just as much of a central figure to the universe as Unca Scrooge in this Wiki, so renaming it to Ducks Universe may be the fair thing to do...

If Donald is the most memorable example, Donald Duck Universe? Or Disney Duck Universe? Or is the clarification taking it too far?

Hmmm. Donald Duck Universe has been used at least once in the wiki (red-linked, of course) so that's worth at least an alternate title. Disney Ducks Universe would work well, I think...

I like Disney Ducks Universe, too. Ducks Universe is still too ambiguous, and calling it the Donald Duck Universe has the same problem of there being many people who think of it as Scrooge McDuck's universe (especially those who are only aware of the TV show).

If Donald Duck Universe becomes a redirect, then the original Scrooge Mc Duck Universe needs to become one as well.

ETA: I see no reason why Mc Duck is a redirect there. Do we normally redirect characters to their work/universe?

Presumably because it's a wikiword, and making it a redirect is less effort than telling everyone to un-wikiword it.

For what it's worth, The Other Wiki uses "Duck universe".

Hmm. Now I wonder if Disney Ducks Comic Universe would work better. It tells everything it needs to, and it's a nice parallel to Mickey Mouse Comic Universe.

[up]Ah, I didn't even know the latter existed, but yeah, I think your suggestion is an elegant solution.

Richie's solution does work with our pre-existing nomenclature. I think the two articles should link to one another.

I would have suggested Carl Barks Universe, but whatever.

He was just one person involved. It would make as much sense as renaming Batman to "Bob Kane Verse".

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

I'd suggest calling it Duckburg. Most stories take place in Duckburg anyway.

He was just one person involved. It would make as much sense as renaming Batman to "Bob Kane Verse".

If Kane were responsible for 99% of the stories everyone remembers and virtually all of the story elements, but I retract my suggestion anyway.

^The page intends to deal with the Ducks comic universe as a whole. Many other artists have contributed to it, so naming it after just one would be unfair. I'm glad to see general likin' to the term Disney Ducks Comic Universe. Scrooge Mc Duck Universe and Donald Duck Universe could be redirects, too!

...That said, Carl Barks is one of my personal Gods, and his page NEEDS Wiki Magic BADLY. Off-topic, but had to be said.

Bumping this; for those who care, I've noticed an increment on tropers employing Donald Duck as the universe's name. I think the rename could fix this up rather easily...

"Ducks Universe" is awkward when spoken aloud; it's unclear whether it's a possessive or not (...and it shouldn't be).

Duck Universe, with a singular "duck," just rolls more smoothly off the tongue (...though of course I'm biased; I wrote the "Donald Duck Universe Guide" in 1996, which may be one of the first uses of the term!)

Bumping for a few more votes. As most of the comics don't include Donald, I don't think using his name would be the best idea.
