So, are the voice costs they talk about on the page simply the cost of using the Japanese voice actors in the game when its released outside of Japan? Or are they hiring the voice actors again so they can re-do the lines? I wasn't quite sure on which it was.
The only reason I'm wondering is because I hadn't heard much of licensing costs specifically for the voice actors.
They have to relicense the voices that were in the original Full Voice release to other regions, and each port would most likely mean a new license.
They are relicensing the voices already for the overseas Steam PC release, but each port would also mean they'd need a new license.

Looks like Sekai Project will be localizing the prologue/epilogue game first released on the PSP if the project reaches 320,000. The question is if the project will make it that far...
VisualArt's has just opened its own official Facebook page.

How far will your 20 pesos go?I like Key's games in general, but I really dislike the ero elements of them. I mean, why do they put H scenes in their games to begin with? The H scenes in AIR and Kanon were OK, I guess, but they had no impact on the plot, even though they logically should've (I mean, who has sex with a chick you're dating and have it have no influence on your relationship with her whatsoever?)
You actually thought they were okay? The Kanon scenes were actually really creepy at times. And that mother/daughter thing in Air was disgusting from what I remember of it.
Anyway, Clannad has no sex scenes. Much better than both.

Hoo boy, that incest scene in AIR... I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at that. It sure didn't arouse me, that's for sure. "I'll stick it in your asshole, too?" Dear lord...
I'm replaying Rewrite, currently on the Kotori route, and I finally realized what they're getting at with one particular plot point—one of the obvious "plot holes" of the story.
Why does Kotarou collapse at the end of Kotori's route when the Key dies, but not in any other route? Because shortly before her death, Kotarou and Kotori discussed their uncertainty as to whether he's just a familiar... And just before Shizuru takes the shot, Kotori directly accuses him of changing into the kind of person she'd like.
Then Kagari is shot... And her last words are, "Kotarou. Pr... oof..." Kotarou even asks himself, "Proof? Of what?" Then his power gets cut off. In other words, he collapses because the Key is taking the power away so they have an answer to the question. Kotarou isn't really a familiar, and she's proving it.
Edit: It's also an answer to another one of the route's questions: "how intelligent and self-aware is the Key, really?" Enough to make its own decision about this sort of thing, apparently.
I feel like I'd have gotten this much faster if not for the fact I started with Kotori's route; in hindsight, it's pretty obvious. I think it's referenced as a plot hole in the trope article, so I'm probably going to snip that out.

Nice catch. So for that reason she takes all his power away? Probably worth it. Also yes, that would pretty much remove the last obstacle from Kotori and Kotarou becoming a couple.
In addition to Clannad and Harmonia, Tomoyo After and Little Busters will also be released in English.

I know I should be excited about actually good visual novels getting official translations and hopefully expanding the market for them but it's really hard when they're not really giving us anything we don't already have. I doubt we'll be getting Little Busters EX, after all.
According to comments I've seen, it's been confirmed that we'll be getting the perfect edition which is EX without the terrible H-scenes.
EDIT: Or at least that's what tlwiki says: http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Little_Busters

Okay now I'm actually kind of interested except we probably won't get it until like 2017 or something.
Clannad has finally came out!!!! And it only took over a decade.
Holy fuck it did.
And what do you know, Planetarian is out as well.
Now if only this kind of thing can happen to Fate Stay Night too...
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Planetarian has been out for ages.
More Planetarian news: animated adaptation by David Production has been greenlit.
Teaser:

Tomoyo After got greenlit for steam, estimate is a summer 2016 release (doesn't say if it's talking about a Jun-Aug release or Dec-Feb release).
Also more information about the Planetarian anime, it'll be five episodes covering the events of the VN followed by a movie that covers the events of the Hoshi No Hito side story that's a sequel to Planetarian, they also released an updated PV.

Oh, and there's a Rewrite + edition coming out to celebrate the anime with some more text, more C Gs and more character voices.

Anybody else like LB!? I'm playing it right now, and I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud this much while playing a VN.
Pretty good, but let down by very weak heroine routes.
Visual Arts confirmed that the Angel Beats VN and the Rewrite+ edition (which IIRC isn't even out in Japan yet and includes Harvest Festa) are getting localised.
Now we just need release dates for the other three V Ns that they confirmed are coming...

That is actually pretty amazing news.
And here I was thinking I'd never get to see the Angel Beats VN.
Clannad Side Stories is released.

It's not that simple, doing ports mean they'll have to relicense the voices for those consoles, and depending on the cost, that might be really expensive.
They are discussing with the talent agencies right now, we'll have to wait for more details.
Honestly, I don't see any reason to release this in any thing other than PC and mobile phones, I'd be surprised if there even is any computer out there that can't run this game. Mobile would reach a lot more people than any portable console could, and it's not like a visual novel even needs buttons anyway.
