a new chapter of Jojolion has just dropped.

we find out that the Rokakaka fruit is not completely compatible with human biology, and it was originally meant to elevate the status of the Rock Humans in some way. a comment i read pointed out some Part 2 parallels, comparing the fruit and the Rock Humans to the Red Stone of Aja and the Pillar Men, respectively.

Stardust Crusaders 19:

That seems like a massive flaw in his otherwise genius plan.

Mannish Boy is a weird kid. In the manga, he even smokes.

You know, with him having fangs and all, I kinda figured.

Episode 21: aka Polnareff fucks up again. I mean, he was at least smart enough to immediately suspect a stand, but once that treasure showed up, you knew he was hooked.

I guess the power of stands can get pretty crazy and all. It explains how fake Sherry knew stuff only the real one would know.

I like how the Hanged Man fight is Polnareff learning not to run off and do things on his own.

Which is followed by several Stand battles where he goes off on his own and gets cornered by the enemy.

On the Jojolion chapter, that crossbow trick with Doggy Style was hella wicked cool and I will no longer think of it as a Stone Free rerun.

Also, it's nice that Mr. Warfare is so willing to exposit to his hated enemies.

hey, even characters with similar Stands can use them completely differently, given the character's mindset.

an unspoken rule i've seen in Stand battles is "it ain't what you got, but how you use it."

That's more or less exactly how Steely Dan describes his Stand power, though.

Star Platinum and ZA WARUDO are a good example of that: one is mostly used for quick kills and for throwing things at people. The other mostly punches stuff around and helps with poker games.

Episode 22.

See, I can't even say it was wrong of them to keep it up even when they met Abdul in disguise and all (since it turned out Cameo was there).

Still, I feel a modicum of pity for Polnareff...either that, or gas.

Yeah, the sub was a bad idea. I am starting to wonder how DIO's assassins keep finding them no matter what precautions they take however. Even since Devo the Curse was literally sitting in Polnareff's room waiting for him (when there was no way he could know any of them would be in that room) that shit's been on my mind.

Also, this won't be the last time Joseph lies to Suzi. Next time, it'll be about his faithfulness.

Triple post for episode 24 and the last part of the first half of Stardust Crusaders.

Damn. Midler was powerful, or at least she chose her battleground really well.

Unfortunately for her, Jotaro has protagonist power great enough to shatter diamonds.

So I've had some interesting discussions about the Jojo villains and I came to some interesting conclusions.

Namely that Dio has a very poor wisdom stat. So much for him goes wrong because he doesn't think things through and actually has only one major attack with ZA WARUDO! That attack being "freeze time, throw something" against Jotaro. He has brief flashes of actually clever thinking, but again only briefly.

I was wondering if I could ask for some help.

A friend of mine has gotten into Jojo recently, but has had trouble finding a good place to talk about and discuss it. I've offered this thread but they prefer live chats like Discord over forums. I'm the opposite so I have nothing to offer there. I don't know which ones they go to currently, but the ones they frequent are causing frustration with shitposting and excessive memes.

Does anybody know a discord channel or something like it they can go to and talk Jojo in relative peace?

Yeah, DIO has high Intelligence, high Knowledge, high Luck, but low Wisdom.

Meanwhile, I'd argue that Kira has a pretty good WIS stat, most of when I've seen him gloating has been when the conditions do seem to indicate victory is his. When he gloats to Jotaro and goes Muda (which is a bad idea), the situation does seem to be victory. Jotaro can't stand and falling apart, Koichi is basically dead, and there is no way Kira could've known about the power of ZA WARUDO!
