I remember that, yeah. They never even got to use it before Watchtower guy destroyed it.
Interesting… but crap, I thought PHF was a manga one-shot, but it's actually a full novel. >.> I'll read it later (that artstyle in the cover illustration though… that's 2010's Araki alright).
Alright, let's dive into Stone Ocean. And we open with a casual and friendly talk about… female masturbation…
…
You think that's when the editor thought it might be a good idea to move the series to another magazine?
Okay, 20 pages in and I already love Jolyne. Don't disappoint me like your predecessor, girl!
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. She hardly will. Even more so if you don't like Jotaro. ;)
... And that's called jazz!i'm not too big into the "waifu" thing, but if i were to pick one, it'd be Jolyne.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Eh, I liked DIU Joutarou fine. But I can get why his daughter wouldn't be too fond of him…
So, walking radio + Razor Floss powers. Interesting. I just hope Tom Cruise doesn't read Jojo. Also, what the hell is wrong with Jolyne's lawyer? >.> Did Adrian Monk and Yoda have a child?

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I hope Yasuho is the one who wins the current fight. She hasn't given the finisher to any enemies yet.
Is that spoiler risky for me?
So, entering Gweth and her totally-not-Little-Feet power. She has a few screws loose, it seems. Their Stands don't have a name yet, though… actually, that's the first part where no one is there to explain what Stands are at the beginning. It's quite refreshing, as Jolyne has to discover everything herself here. The other Jojo's had this aura of confidence around them, but Jolyne doesn't know left from right and that makes her somewhat more relatable. Although the way she killed her lawyer shows that she can be just as quick-witted and ruthless as the other ones.
…That's quite an unusual start for a Jojo arc so far. It has a more realistic and gritty feel to it, and that's the first time the protagonist themself is in a personal predicament, with no enemy that can be punched in the face to solve the problem. She's just deep in shit and she can't understand why.
The fact we're focusing on a single place developped as a living environment is also something I appreciate, although said place isn't quite as welcoming as Morioh. >.>

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. That spoiler is for the latest part 8 chapter.
You can expect that to stick around. Stone Ocean should honestly not have been serialized in Shounen Jump, so much so that Araki moved to Ultra Jump for the next part, as you probably know already.
I heard that part 6 was supposed to be the last one. Then Araki began SBR and, after some references here and there, decided that it should become Part 7.
... And that's called jazz! That wouldn't surprise me… The little I've read of SBR (the first chapter, basically) really felt like a different series.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. It feels a bit like a western tv drama/twilight of the old west novel except with weird stuff like dinosaurs and spinning fingernail bullets.
Well, SBR is basically a reboot.
Reading DIO's World I keep thinking, "Where the hell was this guy throughout Part 3?", despite knowing the reason.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Starting volume 2… "Yare yare da wa… ORAORAORAORAORAORAORA!!!" Yet another reason for Jolyne to hate her dad. At least it makes more sense than Giorno inheriting DIO's "Mudamuda"… or not, since she's probably never seen Joutarou fight… I guess catchphrases and verbal tics are passed down genetically in shounen mangas.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Does that mean Joseph says Dorarara when no one is looking?
Well, he's too sophisticated for good ol' fisticuffs. He must either employ objects or shout an Overdrive, like his grandpa.
... And that's called jazz!Jousuke never crying "Oh my god" is certainly the most disappointing part of DIU.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Entering… Johngalli A…? I don't know how it's spelled. Goddammit, just how many lackeys did DIO have? This one hasn't let go for 22 fucking years too.
Jolyne is a quick learner as always; regarding the ways of surviving in the prison, that is. Her meeting with Joutarou is pretty sad honestly. His own daughter tells him to fuck off and he just… doesn't react. He really has become a mystery novel detective in that sense: just coldly solving cases like puzzles, without showing emotion. But the way it's going, I doubt he'll remain that way throughout the whole arc… I prefered his DIU outfit by the way. =[
There are really some elements of this arc that I can hardly imagine being adapted in anime, but let's hope, in a couple of years.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. You'd be surprised. When Hunter X Hunter got to its infamous Chimera Ant Arc they just moved it to a late night timeslot.
I assume they could do the same with Stone Ocean, but it is also possible that they will tone down some things.
He said it when he first found Shizuka/the invisible baby, though.
Jojo is already on the midnight timeslot since part 1.
I mean.
Dio made a mother eat her own infant child.
I don't know how else they would air that.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Joseph did, Jousuke didn't (or I don't remember).

they make reference to Giorno's bloodline in Purple Haze Feedback. in fact, it's used to explain his more hands-off role in the story. the remains of Diavolo's narcotics division is in the process of looking for a Stone Mask, and it's mentioned that if the Speedwagon Foundation got word that Dio's son knew where a Stone Mask was and was going to get it, that info would bring a lot of unneeded attention to Giorno.
