man, i forgot that we saw Red Hot Chili Peppers this early.

Well that episode was about as depressing overall as I thought it was going to be.

Also, looks like dealing with Koichi getting Echoes will only take one episode, which means that Surface might also be one episode only.

…So Echoes did become Reverb.

But I wonder why Jousuke didn't try to fix the dad with CD… probably wouldn't have worked, but still…

Probably because Josuke cannot reverse a state, as in undo mutations. He probably wanted to use it as a bargain bin to get the Arrows, but he simply knows it won't happen, so why tell him and risk the guy not giving them?

Wait what?

I didn't see Koichi mentioning his stands name at all this episode.

Also, great episode, the flashback scene was Great! In the manga it was just a redrawn DIO and Enya, here we got the whole experience! I like it!

I've lived a quarter of my life around the company that makes Lemonheads, and I've never seen that advertising thing before your avatar. I bet even they saw fit to bury it.

The nice thing about this episode was that it gave a lot more emotional weight than how it was portrayed in the manga. With Keicho giving such an astounded reaction upon seeing his dad with the photo, and the I've Come Too Far moment he had with Okuyasu, he ended up coming off as very human. Aloof to a tee and a mostly unrepentant murderer, but genuinely somber. Shit, I was watching it with my little brother (who normally isn't into watching anything at all - JJBA was that one miracle), and all he could say was "That is seriously messed up".

Yea, its definitely a fucked up situation to be in. This series never fails to amaze.

I've gotta mirror the comments in the article, that while the maker put a lot of effort into it, it has its technical flaws.

The thing that bugged me was how Midna-centric it was. Zelda was barely in it, and not even as a Crusader.

I'd take that over Araki's.

It's fine to not like Araki's newer art (and not to demerit crimson's efforts in the slightest) but I think you might be going a bit far. Assuming you've only seen the colored illustrations which I apologize if that isn't the case (some of them especially the jojonium ones, don't look that good), they don't really do Araki's current artistic talents full justice.

While we're on the subject, I also drew Johnny◊ a ways back and never got around to posting it here.

In all honesty, I was thinking in a comic context — I prefer a cleaner, more expressive style (if more stylized or cartoony). Blandness is a capital sin in character design.

Those are both really good!

I would certainly be critical of the samefaceness and less vivid expressions in his more recent art but I feel he's getting better at both. But the thing is he's improved in a lot of other ways that aren't visible unless you read several pages of SBR/Jojolion. He's certainly much better at anatomy now than when he was starting out with Phantom Blood (the anime actually has much better art lol), and in terms of polish, the angles he uses to tell the story, etc he's improved a lot.

It's just not really been something where he improves in absolutely all areas like some other mangaka, which makes him an odd case.
