The whole thing about Dragona being sexually assaulted, I'm mainly wondering why the story decided to have them be SA'd twice, and not too far apart. From a Watsonian perspective, I get that people around them probably think they're an Extreme Doormat, and that cop is just Angelo in a position of power, but from a Doylist perspective, it just seems odd that Dragona would be singled out as a target for molestation.

SA is an easy route for drama and a story where angst came in the form of a non-violent vector wouldn't have the same capacity for violent retribution or a powerful call to action.

Likewise, Fugo got molested by the school principal. It was an easy route to introduce tragedy and unfair treatment into a character's backstory.

Creates a pattern for the sort of difficulties a character faced too.

[up]Though, remember that the molestation angle was only added for the anime. The manga only said Fugo beat up his professor, and didn't give a reason as to why.

It's actually weird that they chose to go that route with Fugo in the anime. The novel Purple Haze Feedback provides a different yet still entirely plausible explanation (novel spoilers obviously): Fugo's entire family treats him pretty coldly, with the exception of his grandmother. When he's in school he learns that his grandmother is on her deathbed, and not only is he not allowed to go see her, he's not even able to attend her funeral once she does die. His professor and family basically told him "no" both times. When the professor later rubs salt in the wound, Fugo snaps and assaults him.

TBH part of me wonders if the difference was on purpose to deconfirm Purple Haze Feedback, considering how many people mistook it for canon. Also to provide more variety among the group's pasts: we already had Narancia tragically lose one guardian and deal with another's abuse. It also gives him more of the sympathy and victimhood that the other gangsters dealt with.

Did any of you hear of Jojo musical happening? I know it's off topic but one question; is there a slight chance this will be when we get anu updates on potential Steel Ball Run Anime?

Given how timelines have gone, if we hear anything about a potential Steel Ball Run adaptation it would probably be an announcement in the later half of this year with a projected release date of late 2025/early 2026. If I had to guess.

These are some magical depictions of what Sterl Ball Run's opening and ending might be like.

Also can I just say I appreciate the hell out of Gyro's wardrobe?

He seriously might be the swaggest-looking mofo I've seen in this series, and that's no easy victory.

And one more thing; what does patent we got back in 2021 mean? Does it imply Anime might be possible? What else could it mean?

Posting this 16-bit version of Jonathan's theme, along with an animation that channels some familiar imagery.

I love Jonathan's theme. Fittingly, while the others are cool, this one sounds flat out heroic, and (ironically) triumphant.

FINALLY, news on part 7!

I mean, it's just some information that was supposedly leaked and what's supposed to be a screenshot of episode 1, but, you know, it's something. Feel free to debate it's authenticity all you want.

Major spoilers, of course, so it's all under the folder (and tagged, just to be safe).

Full stop, I haven't been keeping up with Jojolands these last couple of months, so apologizes for the drive-by posting.

I was doing some reading about the tarot recently, mostly because I've been playing Persona 3, and I made a connection between The World tarot and the Stand of the same name. To quote the wiki, a reversed World represents "Inertia, fixity, stagnation, permanence."

Is that why The World stops time? Because it's a literal manifestation of stagnation? A world of stopped time being a world where the journey is never concluded, the climax is never reached, and success or change in general is never achieved?

Damn, I feel dumb for never reaching that realization.

The Upright World — wholeness, completion, fulfillment, harmony with all things — is what DIO plans to achieve with the Stand. Hence the whole Over Heaven plan. It's a world all for DIO.

The Reversed World — stagnation, emptiness, permanence — is what DIO's plan would inflict on everyone else.

DIO's Over Heaven plot is essentially an extremely selfish and self-centered quest for enlightenment.

That said, Star Platinum has the same basic powers, and the upright and reversed meanings of The Star can't really be connected to stopping time.

The Upright Star represents hopes and inspiration and faith. There's a reason it's called Stardust Crusaders.

The Reversed Star represents hopelessness, despair, abandonment. And just look at what happens to the Stardust Crusaders during and after Part III.

The change in Star Platinum's abilities reflects this. At the start it was a powerful and durable Stand nearly unmatched in physical ability. By Part VI, the stress using Time Stop put on Jotaro's human body caused the Stand itself to weaken and become frail.

On that note, is it confirmed that stopping time put stress on Jotaro's body? I remember that detail being said in the fanbase a lot, but I don't recall that actually being said in the show. It certainly tracks that DIO would be more proficient at it due to his vampiric abilities, but I don't recall it ever being said that stopping time outright harms Jotaro.

never said in the manga or anime, the reason his time stops get shorter between parts is simply because he’s getting older and more out of practice

Though that doesn't explain why Star Platinum loses durability, with its Persistence going from A in Part III to E in Part VI.

That's what I meant by the Stand itself becoming more frail.

I suppose you could see it as symbolic to a degree. Star Platinum becomes more vulnerable at the same time that Pucci realizes he can use Jolyne as a weakness to leverage against Jotaro.

And while it's stretching it, and Jotaro had his reasons, the Reversed Star representing abandonment matches with the way he neglected Jolyne while she was growing up.

In the Stone Ocean anime Jotaro does mention that each time he uses SPTW he has to take a moment to catch his breath.
