I was the one who recommended Gunjo. I've been on a desperate quest to pimp the fuck out of it because it is just so awesome. That and the page I made for it...I want more love for it...
It's hard to find non-typical yuri. Story-A is hideously common. Gunjo delivers very well. Some of the lesser known yuri is quite good and avoids the dreaded Story A as well...IF ANYONE WANTS I CAN NAME THINGS.
High density WAFF? If you don't mind yuri...Then manga by Miyabi Fujieda might be of interest. FUCK GAYNGST WE HAVE TEH WAFF.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahKoko Ni Iru Yo! is pure WAFF from the very first page to the last. It's a short, sweet manga with adorable art.

If anybody could give me a few suggestions, I'd be very thankful! I'm looking for a comedy manga with quite a few translated chapters. I've enjoyed Hayate the Combat Butler, and, for anime, Seitokai no Ichizon, Suzumiya Haruhi, and the Hayate anime. Anyone know a manga they'd recommend? Thanks!
Yakitate Japan. Endless punning and a parody of shonen.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. For comedy I will recommend the works of Hayashiya Shizuru. In particular Hayate Cross Blade and Strawberry Shake Sweet. If you like Manzai (it's sorta a Japanese Abbot and Castello), sight gags, tsundere, and healthy heapings of yuri or Les Yay you may like Shizuru's style.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahI recommend The Wallflower and Pretty Face.
Also, if you haven't already, definitely watch Haruhi-chan. You'll never stop laughing. I guarantee it.
Eyeshield21 is primarily a shonen series, but it has huge lashings of comedy.
Not sure if this will be to your taste or not, but you might want to try Lucky Star.

This isn't for me, but another person (a stranger, actually) on Subeta. She put up a recommendation thread with very, very narrow specifications and I was wondering if someone on here could find an anime that might fit her interests. :S
The thread can be found here.
I'm considering politely asking her to try broadening her horizons a bit, since she's said "no" to the majority of the posts on the thread.
Maybe I could recommend something to her if she didn't have terrible taste in anime.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. That's a disconcertingly nice thing to do.
Not having watched it, Clannad seems perfect for her. Although I'd say you should go ahead in the "broaden your horizons thing", I would inquire more about what the hell is that site, but this isn't time or place for it.

Magical Girls? Transformations?
Only thing I can think of is Nanoha but I'm not sure if it'd work.
EDIT: Well also Tutu springs to mind but the OP stated their dislike on it so... seconding spork.

"I forgot to recreate the glasses" ... And the fandom weptI disagree with her tastes, too, though it bugs me most that she's being so specific. ._. She's missing out on some pretty good anime.
It has its own page, though it doesn't give much information.
I barely play it; I just browse the anime forum. *
Thanks, though. I'll suggest Clannad and see how that goes.
I haven't watched Ojamajo Doremi or Kamichu, but both seem like they'd suit her tastes. Otherwise, if she likes manga as well, I recommend Suki A Like Story, and Wish, both by CLAMP.
I also didn't see Card Captor Sakura on her list, and I'm surprised. It seems like a perfect fit for her.
EDIT: Oh wait, never mind, just realized that both Ojamajo Doremi and Card Captor Sakura are on her hate list.
EDITEDIT: Let's see. I'm going through the Magical Girl page right now, and I think that Gakuen Alice would be a really good fit for her. Tweeny Witches to a lesser extent.

It sounds like she's a straight-up Shoujo girl. Unfortunately, that means I have absolutely no idea what to rec her as any shoujo I watch tends be either on the atypical side (Dennou Coil, Noein, Natsume Yuujinchou) or Princess Tutu.
Wait, has she tried Vision Of Escaflowne?
I have a list of anime that I'm watching, but just so I don't run out.
Need something like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I've been watching sorta depressing stuff lately so I need something exciting and motivational.
^^Recommend her some Naru Taru. *evil grin*
Sounds like quite a girly girl. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but Potemayo is scientifically proven (read:one girl I showed it to) to induce squee in such people. Then she'll get to the final episode and collapse into a blubbering heap, then, then revenge will be MINE! BWAHAHAHAHAA!
...I'm sorry,I don't know what came over me there.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. But seriously:
- Haruhi
- Read or Die OVA (have not seen the series)
- Cowboy Bebop
- FLCL
- Eureka Seven despite its length

"I forgot to recreate the glasses" ... And the fandom weptI'd hesitate to call Eureka Seven 'exciting' - for a good chunk of its run, it has more of the feel of a gentle Slice of Life show. With surfboarding mecha. Oh, and ohgodswhy would you recommend Cowboy Bebop to someone who's trying to avoid 'sorta depressing'?
Macross Frontier's pretty good for the sort of stuff you're asking for. For older stuff that you're not prepared to take even remotely seriously, try G Gundam.

What's precedent ever done for us?Sure, Bebop isn't 24/7 happyhappyfunfun, but for the most part I feel it fits the picture.
"I forgot to recreate the glasses" ... And the fandom weptHe was looking for "... something like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" in the exciting/uplifting stakes. I really don't think Cowboy Bebop counts for that.

What's precedent ever done for us?@ neobowman: I can definately second the rec for the ROD OVA, which is 90 minutes of concentrated Crazy Awesome.
FLCL? No. Just no. Don't get me wrong, its an awesome show, but in terms of what you're asking for I found the initial episodes to be... deceptive.
Hayate The Combat Butler is a very upbeat comedy with a few shonen parody elements, despite the occasional black comedy.
Samurai Champloo is also excellent if you haven't seen it.
They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams for an instant, then it's night once moreEyeshield21. If Crazy Awesome characters were tiered, Hiruma would be in the god tier. It's chock full of shonen hot-bloodedness, comedy, insane, wacky, or otherwise awesome characters, and American football excitement. Definitely give the manga a try, if at all possible. (I would not recommend the anime.)
Also, I haven't seen it, but the Mahou Sensei Negima: Another World OVA seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

If my tastes did a 180 and I felt like trolling, I'd have suggested Elfen Lied. >.>
Ffffffff...
I give up.

I've seen Haruhi. I've seen Read Or Die (Dunno if it's the series or OVA) and don't really like it. Don't really like Cowboy Bebop (cue flaming), FLCL and Eureka Seven seem to be disputed. And I've already read through all of Eyeshield. I'll check out the rest (not many left).
^^ Neither Tragedy nor comedy appeals to that person apparently. Well, they'd be out of luck in ancient Greece at any rate.
That poster seems to be looking for a more specific Animé than me after finishing a series and wanting nothing so much as more of the same.
