God, iTunes, Amazon for posting it early, and for CN to decide to do that.

@randomness: Or even three if you count a certain someone's seemingly minor change.

That's the one I was referring to, but I guess I know what the 3rd one is...

I mean it's great that this show is willing to experiment with different styles, but that doesn't give it license to just flub off from the plot.

Not every episode has anything to do with the "plot" of which you speak, though. The Video Game episode in particular was back when the show was still entirely episodic. So it was just a thing that happened.

Plot is the wrong term to use, yes, but you know what I mean.

There's Hall of Egress where something weird happens to Finn and it kind of says a lot about him and how he deals with problems. There's the episode with the Firepup and the Snow Golem which was happening in the "background" of whatever excitement Finn and Jake had gotten into, but this story was warm and heartfelt. It filled you in a little more about Adventure Time's setting and what else happens in their world. There are other creatures/forms of life that can share bonds of friendship not dissimilar from Finn and Jake's.

The video game episode, to my knowledge, hasn't done either of those things. The episode where Magic Man sends Finn and Jake through the cycles of life doesn't really tell us anything about them, make us acknowledge some aspect of their world, their personality, or anything. It's just a fever dream with a lot of weird art styles.

I want to say "non-canon" but that's not quite it. The guest episodes are almost always focused on just having fun with the art style and voice direction rather than monkeying around with the setting or the characters. There's plenty of standalones that could be taken out and not harm the season, but the guest episodes are more like Big-Lipped Alligator Moment's that never get brought up again.

And for an artsy person that's probably just harmless fun.

Food Chain did get referenced again...

And the guest animated episodes more always just focus on the style of the episode and the adventure aspect, the different animation used is typically to just enhance the style. Helps the episode stick out more.

Except Water Park Prank...I don't really acknowledge that, the art style and animation is too negative.

I mean, people only really just praise Food Chain...but still.

Slime Princess noticed, and was disturbed, but was clearly restraining herself out of politeness. The one changed didn't notice.

Finn was mostly reaction out of worry for Jake rather than shock. In fact, this miniseries was really great for Finn & Jake bonding moments.

Also, after this miniseries there are only 3 episodes left for season 8, with one of the being a Fionna & Cake episode (probably the last one of the series).

"I Am A Sword."

[tup]

So, Finn-sword just called Finn "Finn Number Two."

He seems perfectly okay with being the original Finn and watching another Finn live his life.

They're identical copies, so which is the original is just a technicality.

Finn-sword calling the other Finn "Finn Number Two" seems odd then.

No one ever said anything about Fern X Phoebe being done...eh ehhh ;)

Also, really, only 3 episodes left? I thought the show usually did 50 per season. There's been maybe 24 tops this season. I wonder what this Fionna and Cake one will be about.

"Preboot."

Susan can speak computer.

Jake wants to get cursed.

Finn isn't the only human (besides Martin, and sometimes Ice King)

Dr. Gross is... a spider-legged Edward Scissorhands meets Doctor Steinman.

Susan has come a long way since her introduction.

"It's like an incentive program." [lol]

It feels like It feels like we've got too many new faces/enemies/loose threads this season. Vampire King, Ice Elemental-less, Gross, Bun Bun, Flame King, and whatever the Grass Sword did to the Finn Sword, Bandit Princess, Huntress Wizard, Betty.

Weird, they just reminded us that Finn is immune to electricity but he gets zapped by Susan's nanomachine thing...?

HOLY CRAP IT'S RATTLEBALLS.

Well that didn't last long.

Rattleballs, Jame Baxter, Jake Suit, Grass Sword.

Good god, one could only imagine how brutal the Grass Sword would be if this was an Adult Swim-produced reboot.

...

Yuba-dubba-dubba-dubba.

I thought the show usually did 50 per season.
Only season five had 52-episodes. Most are 26, with seasons six and seven being halfway between the two.

After yesterday's somewhat underwhelming pair of episodes, today's installments of Elements were both really cool! I really like this whole "elemental influence" thing, it's fun to see the characters transform into different versions of themselves.

It seems like Ice is the depressed and ennui element, fire is the violent and chaotic element, slime is the funky and expressive element, and candy is the silly and careless element.
