Yes I know but in context, Tiamet makes more sense in being a divine dragon, rather than a supernaturally and artificially made human. Mewtwo would be a better fir for Enkindu. The epic of Gilgamesh actually has a dearth of divine monsters that aren't antagonist to Gilgamesh (it's Mesopotamian, what do you expect) So really, a correlation between the two at all is OOC. Jesus would be a better fir, what with hsi whoel Dragon-tamer thing. it also ties in the Christianity-esque decals of Team Plasma.
Let's make a TCG!I'm not sure if Team Plasma was an intentional riff on Christianity... at least, I hope not. So yeah, Gilgamesh fits better.
Also, I put the link to my Dream World post under "Geography" since that's the template I used, but should it go in a new section, or even a sub-section of Geography?
Contact Me!Eh, I'd give it that, it's just that there are many "Hero bond with mythic beats" myths on Earth and Gilgamesh just isnt one of them.
Let's make a TCG!I think I'll later move it to Overview, if it is OK with you guys. The DW is more or less encompassing enough.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Fine by me.
EDIT: Heck, I've already done it. Still need suggestions for expanding the bottom parts, though.

Contact Me!First stage of the Totodile entry revision is already posted. Basic description, Totodile description, Habitat and Locomotion are the covered aspects, mostly. The entry still doesn't integrate Umbra's artwork proposal.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Since this is a collab, is it OK if I write the "In Human Culture" segment?
Contact Me!On the superhero topic of pages 259 and 260...
Birdboy's Pokedex (on Fanfiction.net) refers to Machop as the inspiration for Superman and Ariados as the inspiration for Spider-Man. I didn't see these references in either page here, so who do you guys see as the Pokemon world's Man of Steel and Spidey?
As for Darkrai, I really don't think Darkrai works as the Dark Knight, but I also think that Darkrai is the closest thing we have to Batman. This should explain my contradictory posts on Pages 259 and 260.
One more thing... Tiamat = Salamence (as well as Hydreigon since the Final Fantasy Tiamat is a cross between a dragon and a hydra, just like Hydreigon).

We need to stop shoehorning references in just to have them. In my culture that's called "getting cute."
Besides Machop= Superman makes no sense; these people know nothing of history.
Let's make a TCG!If there was a Superman Pokemon, it'd probably be one of those aliens like Clefable or something. Even then, the moon hasn't exploded.
I could see a Transformers/Gundam reference for Golurk, maybe.
I love these articles, but I have neither the time nor the skill to contribute.
So good job, everyone.
Yeah, even as a guy who loves sneaking references in, we can't just shoehorn them.
Or Iron Giant.
I'll quote Tangent on this: We appreciate appreciation!
EDIT: Any more suggestions on the Dream World? I'm thinking about publishing it soon so I can get to work on resurrecting my Dead Fic.

Contact Me!Agree on the shoehorning references stuff. As for Batman, the only thing that I know that more or less fits, like, by tilting head and squinting, is Anime Mewtwo. Tragedy in its youth, a very strong mind, knowledgeable, protects others, capable of operating technology to a high degree, cloaks itself, operates in the darkness and.... stop. Mewtwo does not even have a Rogues Gallery.
Besides, we are supposed to not take stuff from fics as sources, unless they have a strong basis. Storybuilding and all that.
'EDIT: Umbramatic: we already have discussion on the logs about the how and why of Totodile as a Starter and the implications and consequences in its reception and portrayal in human culture. I must grep the adequate conversation before any more thorough theck, so unless someone beats me to the grep, that will wait until I'm ready grepping and working on battle abilities and social structure.

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Dream World is wiki'd, but since I want to focus on the resurrection of my Dead Fic, I can't really contribute much (except maybe an addition to the Totodile line revision) until Thursday, when I plan on doing Tornadus.
EDIT: Got it. I'll just work on my fic until I can do Tornadus then.

Contact Me!I'm trying to picture Giovanni as the Joker now.
Guys, you're looking at this all wrong—Giovanni isn't the Joker, he's Lex Luthor. Clearly, this would make Mewtwo a Superman analogue.
The Danse Macabre Codex...That halfway makes sense.
His backstory fits in more with Superboy, though.
But what about Gilgarman!
Let's make a TCG!And because of that comparison, I'm now imagining an awkward romance between Mewtwo and a female shiny Deoxys. Thanks a lot, Hob.
But seriously, that comparison is quite apt; hell, it even meshes with Giovanni (the Luthor analogue) being one of Superboy/Mewtwo's "parents".
The Danse Macabre CodexIsn't he retired?
Indeed.

Unless we are talking about Adam West!Batman... Gligarman doesn't feel like fits to me. Yeah, yeah, I like the DCAU interpretation of the character a lot.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Giovanni is Lex Luthor and we all know it.
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasCaptain America = Braviary, most likely, since most people agree that Braviary is a Pokemon representation on the typical American. (Or is that Snorlax who best represents Americans?)
If we're going to look at Mewtwo as Superman, then Giovanni is Kal-El, Supes' daddy.
The real question is, though... Who's the Silver Surfer, Deoxys? As in the Darkrai/Batman argument, Deoxys is the only real fit for the Silver Surfer.
Whereas Tiamat had nothing to do with the Epic of Gilgamesh and was a mother of monsters that needed to be slain by a hero.
