Nope, I just did the number crunching. Darkrai, with maxed out Special Attack against a lv 1 Buneary, does a maximum of 40,827 damage. While Giratina, in Origin forme with maxed out Special Attack against the same Pokemon, does only a maximum of 25,000 damage.
EDIT: Ninja'd.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Don't some pretty normal Pokémon such as Shiftry or Lapras do over 15k damage with the same calculators? We're talking fundamental forces of nature here...

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Whatever the case, Darkrai still has a pretty friggin' powerful Dark Pulse, and that's what matters.
Contact Me!Good point. Heck, for all the nerfing the Anime does to Legendaries, Darkrai manages to spread a Dark Pulse and block most of a Draco Meteor from Dialga. All over a city. Twice.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?I'm thinking either Ghost Rider (minus the bike) or Etrigan, given an alteration the lore of either fiction so that the human's soul gets bonded with a Darkrai, rather than a demon.

Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805Etrigan is a bit too obscure, and while I love Ghost Rider, he might be too much of a stretch. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
I was thinking Hellboy might work, though, since Darkrai's one of the few things close to a demon in the Pokeverse. Any thoughts on that?
Contact Me!I can understand the reference to Freddy Krueger in the Darkrai post, but referring to Darkrai as the Pokemon version of Batman makes no sense whatsoever. If anything is even close to Batman, it's ABSOL (or maybe Crobat, lol).
Can't wait for the inevitable "All for one and one for all" references with Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion and Keldeo.
I'd like to point out that the Darkrai article doesn't SAY Batman, it just makes a vaugue reference to some superhero.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!...we never mentioned Batman, just that Darkrai is a superhero in some media. Were you thinking of Mewtwo? Because that's who we decided was a Batman Captain Ersatz.
EDIT: Revenge-Ninja'd hard. That's what I get for going AFK without hitting the post button.

Contact Me!I vehemently disagree with Mewtwo being Batman, and prefer Darkrai to the point of declaring YMMV on the discussion.
Well I think we just got the award for weirdest frakkin' post on this thread.
Let's make a TCG!First he said Darkrai was a bad choice for being Batman, when the article never said anything about that. Then he said Mewtwo made no sense as Batman and that Darkrai was a superior choice when he said just the opposite earlier...
OK, I'm reporting this guy as a troll. Now, does anyone have real feedback on Darkrai? Or Smiggins' article for that matter?
Contact Me!Ah, okay. I didn't pay much attention to his first post.
In other news, the first of the two Kami Trio episodes comes out tomorrow! I won't write the articles until part 2 comes out next week, but I will take notes from Serebii/Filib.de screenshots and possibly You Tube.
EDIT: Again: any real feedback on Darkrai or Fuchsia City?

Contact Me!The Teddiursa article has been added to the wiki.
Beware the shadows. You never know what might be waiting to strike.Only thing I would add would be a mention of the area SW of the city where Bird Flying trainers gather.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Oh yeah, you're right about that.
Whew... sorry I've been away for so long, first schoolwork, then getting home and relaxing / doing other projects.
So. Read all the articles to date, no objections. One bit of clarification on the now-published Darmanitan article, though- it says that females seek out mature Darmanitan for protection from the less restrained adolescents, but that the mate leaves after mating? That just seems like rather shoddy protection to seek after.
A more general issue, that seems to not be thought about in a lot of the more xeno articles, is the matter of diet. Obviously, exotic lifeforms may likely eat quite different things than more mundane biochemistry; however, whatever they eat, realize it has to be a plausible energy source.
Living things extract energy from compounds like any chemical reaction does- by converting high-potential-energy chemicals to low-potential-energy chemicals. That's why, for instance, water is near-useless as a fuel, no matter what cranks will tell you. It's a very stable chemical.
So, for instance, if a species eats rocks, be clear about what kind they eat. Ferrous iron is a plausible agent to reduce, as are some sulfur compounds. Iron oxide ("rust") and quartz crystals are not plausible, the former being already spent and the latter being, again, a very stable chemical.
None of this applies to the chemicals used to compose the body, obviously. Your body is made of quartz, then eating quartz is needed to grow. It does not keep you alive, though.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? They're only interested in females when said females are in heat.
EDIT: Some notes from today's episode:
1. Tornadus and Thundurus seem to be two greatly feared legendaries, considering both the amount of destruction they can cause, not just by fighting humans and other Pokemon but also by fighting each other, and the fact that they seem to be easy to piss off - especially if their shrines are damaged.
2. Landorus was worshiped even before he banished the other two for their destructive ways.
3. Humans healed Landorus in one conflict between it and its brothers.
4. Tornadus' Air Slash attack looks like freaking giant tree-chopping shirukens. That is badass. (granted, as of BW it always looks like shirukens, but these were bigger and more powerful than normal)
5. Even with the "anime nerfing" Silent mentions, these guys are still pretty tough. The attacks of the regular Pokemon don't even bother them.
6. They vastly prefer elemental attacks, but they're not afraid to attack with their fists when really angry.
7. Landorus can apparently be summoned by appealing to his interests: Boccie balls and shrine maidens.
That's all for this week.

Contact Me!Who'd have thought boccie balls would ever be mentioned in a discussion thread about Pokemon.
Beware the shadows. You never know what might be waiting to strike.Oh hey, Tornadus is the name of a planet from Futurama.
They call themselves seamstresses -Feet Of ClayI doubt I could work that into the article. Though it is a funny coincidence.
Any objections to putting Darkrai on the wiki?
EDIT: Up and indexed; also reclaimed Tornadus yet again.

Contact Me!Fuchsia City has been formally launched, and I go on a holiday tomorrow morning. Probably won't have time to work on anything else while I'm away, but I may be able to post.
Derp, read the serrebii list wrong.
Let's make a TCG!
