Well, I mean, once you have a "give everyone new/their missing hearts" machine, it'd be all too easy to restore everyone they turned into Nobodies.

Everyone who they turned into Heartless without producing Nobodies is fucked, though.

I mean, one of the things about Heartless is that they will always exist.

You aren't exactly going to run out of the little buggers anytime soon.

Making more is just unnecessary.

Expedient, sure, but unnecessary, and, obviously, kinda immoral?

Well, with Roxas gone, they only one they know of who can release Heartless hearts is Sora, who would just go home without a crisis.

And this is where it'd be smarter to act as the ones under a crisis. Approach Sora first and tell him there are still Heartless arround, and they need him to release their captured hearts.

I mean, hell, making more Heartless is a thing Maleficent was just going to do if left to her own devices anyway, so doing it yourselves is just idiotic and pointless on so many levels.

It's not a smart way to behave, and it's not a moral one.

It's just pointlessly dickish and petty.

Which is fair enough considering whose Nobody was in charge, but still.

They made their plan under the assumption that she was dead. They forgot that Maleficent is made of Vague Fable Magic.

"She cannot return from the Realm of Darkness of her own volition" Vexen says.

But, see, Xemnas went to the Realm of Darkness just to have cryptic conversations with Roxas at the beach.

I rather think someone slapped in "Realm of Darkness" as a stand-in for "death" there. It would certainly make more sense considering Maleficent's death scene in KHI.

The "Death" scene that involved her heart being unlocked to darkness, the darkness that was explicitly said to have been eating away at her?

I mean, Sora's totally killed some cursed pirates, and was at least an accomplice to the murder of one Hector Barbossa.

Shan Yu died probably.

But Heart unlocking stuff and turning into a dragon as a result of Heart unlocking stuff even though you could turn into a dragon anyway.

...Oh yeah, I remembered that in BBS Maleficent survived the thing that killed her in the movie.

Now I can't actually remember what I was saying.

I think the second time, she was brought to that time period by Xehanort (hence "he was right!"). They probably grabbed her from just before her death in KHII.

Why did she return in KHII? Man, I dunno. I guess nobody wanted to bring her sister into Kingdom Hearts.

I kinda assumed that Auron was an anomaly. I think Hades mostly deals with people from his world, and occasional gets a lost soul from somewhere else.

A god of the underworld has certain privileges, I presume.

Evil powers... health insurance... free soda...

That was Thanatos, though.
