Yeah, this one just left me meh.
I mean, I guess it's conceivable that Hanners simply contacted Marigold seperately to inform her of her departure. If I were in that situation, I know that I would want to contact my closest friend before the rest of my friend circle.
But again, this is just speculation bordering on Fan Wank. The simplest explanation is that Jeph simply forgot how close Marigold and Hanners used to be.
Heh. Roko is in fact into toast, but only when severely drunk. Plus, jumping straight to the end goal is terrible dating etiquette. At least get to know her a little first, Pintsize!

Budding relationship? He was attracted to Brun, but as I remember it, she showed absolutely no sign of interest in him.

I started off not liking Roko, like a lot. I wasn't a fan of the whole hardball cop thing. But I remember that bonus Tumblr comic being one of the funniest QC things I had seen in years, and with her recent appearances, she's a lot more chilled out and fun. Honestly I think she's a favorite of mine.
