Tbh it's less evolution and more lateral movements by now. He's at the ceiling set by the amount of detail he can/wants/has time to put into the comic.
Hardly a new ship, just the first time the comic has acknowledged it outside of a guest strip.
Though I'm not sure we've actually seen Faye do all that much touching.

It is german. The individual meanings translate to "worm", "father", "skull" (as in, the pirate flag symbol), "birthday" and "dark brown". I think at least.
I see Brun´s creepy laugh extends beyond that one incident.
