Well, what other characters from that game both fight and could be counted as part of the villain's side?

A VI villain, actually.

... Though I do kinda feel Vivi or Garnet would be slightly better choices than Steiner for IX, thereby eliminating the issue of redundancy.

NPC wise in XIV there are a plethora of characters. Y'shtola is the current leader in my mind but I hope not her because she's pretty boring and a White Mage to boot combat wise. Cid Garlond is cool since he's a magitek armor pilot and gunblade wielder and the main NPC for the final act of the story with a deep connection with Gaius but of course his name is Cid so he might be excluded just for that. Alphinaud and Alisae are probably a popular choice, plus it would be pretty cool to see some Twincasting and a two in one character. Villain wise its a toss up between Gaius and Lahabrea. Gaius is the more pressing half of the Big Bad Duumvirate in A Realm Reborn's story arc but is ultimately used as a pawn for Lahabrea, but Lahabrea is a Yu Yevon like Post-Final Boss.

They probably won't use Nag'moldala because he's a non combat character in XI. Plus Eald'narche and Kam'lanaut we're designed by Tetsuya Nomura and the developers wanted to throw them in before they decided to throw in Prishe so probably them. Although I half want the Shadow Lord over both of them personally.

More then any other character though, I think I just want Vayne. I kinda feel cheated that he hasn't been in one of the games yet.

Right. I agree with that. Just was saying that if you want Beatrix's fighting style, you might as well use Steiner.

If they really want to add more Villains to the game they probably wouldn't add Beatrix. Xande, Seymour and Seifer are probably the front runners outside games lacking villain representation right now anyway.

How about Queen Remedi or Illua?

They are probably front runners if Tactics Advanced and A2 get two characters. But then again to even get them we still need at least Ramza, Marche, Luso and probably Delita.

Well, yeah, but they're moving onto hardware that can hold much more data than those teensy-tiny UMDs the PSP used. A large cast isn't out of the question.

Funny. If they had Marche, he could have the exact same motivations as in his home game, but I doubt that anyone'd be declaring him a villain this time.

I bet Xande would be one to never want to return to his home world.

Xande I feel would make a good rival for Vivi if they go down with the fated ultimate show down of ultimate destiny vibe.

I would very much like a huge cast though but TA and TA 2 are probably behind Tactics, Crystal Chronicles and Type-0.

I dunno. I've yet to be able to play Nirvash.

Heh. I know they'd never do it, but I think Quina could actually be a really cool character for the "blue mage" style character.

As far as serious blue mage characters, I would go with either Galuf (because he's the best) or Strago (because he's one of 2 characters who is an actual* Blue Mage and the one with the most plot relevance).

*I say actual because most other blue mages get it from the job system or they're Quistis and Kimahri who can only use Blue Magic in limit break because they're pansies.

Yeah, but its not like Zidane can shoot his runic laser beams outside trance in his game so I don't think Blue Magic being a Limit Break would matter much if they where included

Yeah, but when the purpose is to have a blue mage character for the sake of having a blue mage, it just makes sense to go with the characters that can actually use blue magic 100% of the time, you know?

I wonder if Zidane using his Dyne moves outside of Trance is the reason why they're nowhere near as impressive-looking. As in, they're actually weaker.

I'd like Blue Mage Faris.

I really wish Zidane had Thievery as an HP attack. The rest of his Thief Skills don't seem nearly as easy to incorporate.

And yeah, Blue Mage Faris would be neat.

Then again, so would a V character who used skills from the original game.

Ah, right- As far as new characters go, I'd really love to see more from the earlier games, if only because I think the modernizations of the first six games' cast was one of the cooler features of the current Dissidias.

Sarah 1, Maria, Minwu, Luneth, Refia, Rosa, Rydia, Faris, Lenna, Celes and Locke all seem like good choices on the Cosmos/heroes side, and Leon, Xande, and General Leo all feel like good choices for the baddies.

More generally, I'd also like more Aerith-style Assist-only characters on top of the expanded playable roster.

If we we're to get more Final Fantasy IV characters I think I would want Zemus just so we can have another villain to even things out a little. If I had to choose one from each game it would probably go Princess Sarah, Leon, Xande, Zemus, Faris, Locke, Aerith (Upgraded to playable that is), Seifer, Vivi, Seymour, Eald'narche and Kam'lanaut, Vayne, Barthandelus and Cid and Gaius

I'd say add Rosa and/or Rydia and make Kain one of baddies.

• Six Characters: I'm going with Leon(2), Celes(6), Auron(10), Noctis(15), and Machina(0). There are more though. Those are just the main six.
• I kind of want to see the first Cycle. It could be called Dissidia Primum or something.
• Vita or 3DS. Preferably the latter as I lack a Vita at this time.
