I'm hoping Koto at least releases 1/10 kits of Beck and Call to match up with their kits of Rock and Roll :P
Also waiting for the r34 of all the Calls engaged in extreme narcisissm.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Hey now, you're a Star Man...
...there's a SiIvaGunner thread.
I know.
Am I not allowed to post the music in the appropriate series' threads if I want to?
Its not music for the series. Its SiIvaGunner. They're not the same.
I got a Roll figurine◊ at my local game store yesterday :)
The Protomen enhanced my life.Neat. Vinyl figures have really taken off, haven't they? Seems like they're everywhere as everything now.
Wait, is that the Captain N Mega Man on the side of the box?

No, that's Leaf Shield Megaman.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I've heard there's some awkwardness in adapting her 8 design in posable figures.
Yeah, cause some of them use◊ this◊ pose.
Others are less troublesome XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I'm paritla to the kidrobot keychains myself. got me a classic mega man with helmet (along wit all 4 ninja turtles)
So whose idea was it to have Minibosses in X3 use the full blowing-up animation that the Mavericks get? It is a pain in the ass. especially since most levels' checkpoints are before their minibosses.
Preordered the ultra-posable Sentinel figure of Rock, they're also making Hub.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I wonder why they're suddenly pushing Battle Network merch in Japan again. Is it just because it's the 15th anniversary of BN, or are they actually planning on doing something bigger?
... new game pls? (yes, I'm a Battle Network fan, sue me)
Battle Network was the best
Except for X1-3
(Playstation X games have not aged well with their gratuitous vocie acting)
the voice acting only really matters for x4.
and while i liked bn it's probably my least favorite subseries that i've played.
I was just assuming all the PSX games had lousy voice acting, because I never got past 4.
I didn't like the presentation change between X3 and X4
Forever liveblogging the Avengersx5 doesn't have voice acting at all and x6 was so lazy they kept the japanese va.
I also don't like the change between the PS and SNES versions of X3.
Sure, let's take out a serviceable, simple cinematic that segues smoothly into the level and substitute a clashing anime cinematic that also inserts a lurch and loading screen before you start playing!
A bit off topic, but I posted this in the Resident Evil thread, and thought I'd share it here as well:
Having been replaying Resident Evil 5 for quite a bit, I just came to the realization that the game's plot actually feels more like one seen in the Mega Man franchise, particularly the X series. Aside from ZX Advent basically being the game's story two years earlier, you've got the organization that defends the world from threats caused by viruses or terrorists using viruses (Maverick Hunters/BSAA), the main hero's close friend being presumed dead and coming back in a brainwashed state (Jill/Zero), the main villain wanting to force evolution onto the masses, not caring about the ones who will die in the process (Sigma/Wesker), and the main enemies are those that have been infected by a virus (Sigma Virus/Las Plagas), with an even more powerful one being created by the main villain to awaken "true potential" (Zero Virus/Uroboros). Heck, even Wesker's final form looks like Sigma!
What do you guy's think?
I did like the music more in the PSX version of 3. The SNES soundtracks are typically very good, and from a composition standpoint they're good, but I felt the instrumentation was too high-pitched a and a little grating. That's just me though.
I do like the PS games quite a bit.The play station redesigns in Classic and X are controversial, but I liked the more bishoujo mixed with Shonan thing they had going.
And again YMMV, but I've heard much worse voice acting in other games, Resident Evil for one. At least there's emoting here. And there really wasn't much of it to begin with. About 8 45 second cutscenes and that's about it.
I get tired of hearing about X 4's acting. There's more to the game than that, and it feels like everybody's going to Never Live It Down. The story itself is fine, the graphics are colorful and expressive, the gameplay is good, and Sigma has one of the coolest and most intense boss fights in the series. Plus first proper playable Zero.
I'm not saying everyone has to like it, but I myself see it as having more good than bad. Especially as they restrained themselves from going 3D until later.
The PSX music was definitely a general improvement, but I was disappointed that they slowed the tempo of the prologue stage's music.
To bring up a discussion from another thread:
This isn't regular "difficult and unforgiving but cool and satisfying" level design we're talking about here. Let me be more specific.
At the very beginning of gate fortress 1, there's a wall of spikes on the side of a platform that you need to jump over. X is completely incapable of making that jump to progress through that level unless he has a specific part (which you get from reploids you have to rescue who can permanently disappear), or use the gaea armor. But if you use the gaea armor, you're going to suck balls against the boss since its lack of mobility makes you a sitting duck.
here are some more examples of the bad level design.
