It could be reference to the symbol. Ke/khi/ki is represented as an X.

Has anybody here played Megaman Rock Force?
It got a new update recently that now lets you play as the titular Rock Force and it looks really fun to play now. Especially because two of the Rock Force members are some of my favorite Robot Masters (Knight Man and Nitro Man).

This has been a long time in the making for me. It's time to unofficially continue the Maverick Hunter X storyline since the PSP game flopped.
Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter X2 Chapter 1 (FanFic, obviously)

i'm still salty that it flopped. it was a pretty decent remake all-around and i REALLY want to know what they would have done with remakes of x2-x5. maybe we would have finally gotten some actual closure for the zero/wily storyline and an actually decent translation for the games since translation blunders pretty much ruined x's storyline.
speaking of x5, i revisited that game recently and realized that it has the best boss theme in the entire series. despite the flaws i actually like it better than x4, if mostly because of childhood nostalgia and all the throwbacks to old mega man games that i missed when i was younger. the entire game is like a huge love letter to the entire franchise and it would have been a mostly amazing ending. too bad they had to ruin that by making x6.

It's called Mega Man X Ver. Ke, or rather, Rockman X Ver. Ke.
I get that "Ver." is short for "Version", but does anyone have an idea as to where does the "Ke." come from?
