At least there are always model swaps for the PC version. Though not including even RE 6-esque palette swaps in the base game was a disappointing oversight on Capcom's part.
...Wait, there are model swaps for the PC version? Really now?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!As with a few other MT Framework games, the character models work well enough when swapped between skeletons. Credo, Kyrie, Gloria and Trish all work fairly well swapped over Dante and Nero, with only a few facial animation oddities. Just be sure to mute the voices.
...How does one go about doing that? Beating the shit out of demons as Kyrie would be hilarious.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! There are a couple of tutorials, but I think there should be a few pre-packaged swaps floating around as well. Though a quick search only brings up Trish, Gloria and Lady.
...So I just picked up this mod for DMC4 and I just love Kyrie's appearance (note the wicked tattoo on the left side of her face). After watching a few cutscenes and playing two missions, I now have a major plot bunny that just won't leave me alone.
Who here would like to see a DMC fic staring that Kyrie? And yes, I'm talking about a Kyrie who wields a recolored Yamato and has Nero's Devil Bringer powers.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I haven't really played any of the games, but I am aware of its existence.
I'm also aware that DmC is not exactly the best game in the series.
But you guys remember reading somewhere that Ninja Theory's original concept for Dante was a tad more traditional, but Capcom wanted them to go further?
It begs the question.
Why on God's green earth would Capcom say no to something as nice looking as this?◊
I mean, I'm not a fan of the series and even I think this is looks way nicer than what we got in DmC.
P.S. Bottom-left Dante's probably my favorite of the bunch. I honestly prefer long sleeves over rolled-up sleeves.
EDIT: Okay, turns out that's concept art from DMC 4, not Ninja Theory's DMC.
(Looks around nervously with an equally nervous grin.)
Heh heh.
Oops.
But it still looks great nonetheless.

I'm more disappointed that shirtless Dante never made it past the concept stage in DMC 4. I know the game was rushed, but how much work would one costume variation have been?
...I wouldn't know the answer to that.
Anyway, something that's been on my head for a while.
Does anyone know if DMC has any comic licensors?
I mean like, Dark Horse Comics or IDW Publishing, any one of those guys?
I'm not sure if there's a DMC comic but there's an Anime.
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850I believe there was a short-lived comic adaptation of the first game by Dreamwave. Sadly it was cancelled when Dreamwave went bankrupt.
El Don Te actually wasn't the original version. Originally, he looked more like Tameem or whatever the name of Ninja Theory's head was. It got changed after people called bullshit.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I don't think there was ever an actual DMC comic book, but I do know that there's a couple of manga volumes based off of DMC 3. There were also a few light novels, but the only ones that have a possibility of being canon are the DMC 4 ones, and those were never translated.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. The franchise is still dead in the water as far as we know, yes?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Regrettably, yes.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I was just asking, since the idea of a DMC ongoing series has been in my head for a while and…
- It'd be published by Dynamite Comics, IDW Publishing, or Dark Horse Comics.
- It would mainly follow the stories and have the appearance of the original DMC games while squeezing in plot elements from Ninja Theory's DMC such as Dante and Vergil being the offspring of an angel and a devil and Dante having dark hair when he was a kid, only to have it go white as he gets older.
And if God allows it, that same publisher will pick up the comic rights to Bayonetta and if we're lucky, we could get a…you know.

I dunno, I never liked the whole Angel/Demon parentage in Dm C. The whole theme of the original games was that Dante had his power because of his demon half, but his compassion and heroism from his human half. Yeah, it's cheesy as hell, but it works with the tone of the games.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...It's kind of sad that I rather see the franchise die for a while than witness anything like DMC or even related to DMC exist at this point.
Improving as an author, one video at a time. You mean DmC, surely.
And yes, I agree. I would rather the franchise die than for it to be further sullied by DmC.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Seriously, you gotta wonder what the heck is going on over at Capcom.
I mean, doesn't anyone have any theories about it?
Oh, that's how it was in the original games? Huh. Well, it doesn't have to have that particular plot element.

You should probably watch playthroughs or the cut scenes of the original series before thinking up comic ideas. DmC is extremely different from DMC. Like, the only similarities I can think of are "There's this half-breed named Dante who has this brother named Vergil who's kinda sorta evil and then fight demons." Or you could just play them yourself. You can pick up the HD Collection for the PS 3 or Xbox 360 pretty cheap these days.
As for what's going on at Capcom, between DmC and Mega Man Legends 3, I have no idea but while I've mostly gotten over DmC (I can always just ignore it), I still haven't forgiven them for the latter.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Well, Bayonetta's supposedly the best possible spiritual successor, but honestly I wasn't blown away by the first game * , and the second is an exclusive for a console I'll never buy.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I like Bayonetta but, despite being in the same genre, it plays very different from DMC so it can't scratch that itch.
That and I much prefer Dante and Nero to Bayonetta but that's just personal opinion.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I actually greatly prefer the gameplay and universe of Bayonetta and MGR to DMC, but I still regret the lack of a proper DMC 5 for the forseeable future. All three deserve to be continuous distinct series.
...
So I found that Bentley Jones did a remix of "Shall Never Surrender." It's... okay. It's a bit nonsensical and doesn't really sound like a song that fits Nero. It also features some (bad) Gratuitous Japanese.
