What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?x3 *Hit
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyNo, Critical Hit would probably be an Instant. Critical Strike is a common term used for skills and talents that increase critical-hit rates.
Amulet of Pain intended for multiplayer?
Amulet of Pain + literally anything that can put charge counters on an artifact = extra damage. Gilder Bairn or Vorel of the Hull Clade if you're particularly impatient.
Soothing Mantras - W
Enchantment
During each upkeep, each player gains 1 life.
Even those of darkest heart find themselves muttering the words in times of distress.
Actually, I came up with the idea for Amulet of Pain as I was building a deck for this guy, since you can't always give your guys flash. Though the proliferate shenanigans also work nicely.

Oh yeah. You could also smack your opponent with a lightning bolt and then ration out the points of damage so that you can always trigger bloodthirst abilities.
Amulet of Pain + Doubling Season.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...And in addition to the damage you deal normally being doubled, you could use the amulet's own ability to double it each turn. How's THAT for quad damage? Yeesh.
Great Doubling - 4WUBRG
Legendary Enchantment
If a player would gain life, that player gains twice that much life instead.
If an effect would make a player draw cards, it makes that player draw twice that many cards instead.
If an effect would make a player sacrifice permanents, it makes that player sacrifice twice that many permanents of that type instead.
If a source would deal damage to a creature or player, it deals double that damage to that creature or player instead.
If an effect would put one or more tokens onto the battlefield or counters on a permanent, it puts twice that many of those tokens on the battlefield or of those counters on that permanent instead.

The Lorax - 3GGGG
Legendary Creature - Beast Avatar
As long as you control a Forest, green creatures you control are indestructible.
The Lorax's power and toughness are equal to the number of Forests you control.
While you control no Forests and the Lorax is in your graveyard, green creatures you control get -2/-2.

Lear, Aging King 2WR
Legendary Creature - Human
When Lear enters the battlefield, choose three other creatures. Randomly exile one of those creatures. Each other chosen creature gets a +1/+1 counter.
Lear gets three time counters. Remove one at each end step. If Lear has no time counters, creatures exiled by Lear return to the battlefield. If a creature returned to the battlefield this way dies, sacrifice Lear.

''The eternal question of reality, it still stands today.''Would it just be that turn, or would you have to remember every creature he's gotten lost that way?
Suspend and two counters would do the trick for the exiled creature.
