I highly recommend New Vegas Enhanced Content if you're looking for an all-inclusive mod that adds a ton of content without having to pick and sort through what might or might not be causing a conflict.
Nordic Firearms, Homemade Weapons, Vault-Tec Power Armor, etc. are all included, as is both New Vegas Bounties, Project DEIMOS, and all sorts of bug and error fixes.
GloveAndBoots is good for Blog! Thanks for the links. That classic weapons pack looks pretty great. Can't wait to try the Ithaca and Widowmaker.
One more question: Any mods that add greatswords for a melee character? Most of the weapon mods seem geared for guns and energy weapons.
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42671 is a melee weapons mod. Haven't dl'd it myself so I don't know if it has any BFS in it.

If you're looking for something more historical, you might try Arming Swords or Jaysus' Swords for one handed stuff.
Swords of the Wasteland takes the idea of the Bumper Sword and more "scavenged" weapons to another level.

GloveAndBoots is good for Blog!If you want shotguns, my choice is using WMX to get a modded Dinner Bell. Or an AA-12.
Thanks for the suggestions. Getting the arming swords and Europeon Greatsword from the same author. I'll try them out on my tribal pro-Legion Proud Warrior Race Guy.
NCR: Bringing you the benefits (and drawbacks) of democracy and capitalism. Weather you want it or not.
Or
NCR: You weren't using that land were you?
Or
NCR: Hey, at least were not legion.
Or
NCR: Bring on the paperwork
Or
NCR: We're trying dammit!

My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting Failurelol Too good.
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92NCR. Yeah, we have all our best men in the Mojave. Pity they are all at the Hoover Dam though, isn't it?
I love Moira Brown. Playing a bit of Fallout 3 and doing the guide quest again. She is so earnest. Ditzy as a mofo but earnest, 8-)

Moira is the best.
House: What happens in Vegas, lines my pockets.
So I just went to Dry Wells to take down Gais Magnus and the ten or so legionaries that survived the nuking.
Surprisingly easy. He didn't even hurt me; he ran at me with a minigun but just kept reloading it in front of me without firing a single round, letting me wail on him with my Holorifle. Then he just pulled out a machete and rushed me. By this point he was so weak that I ended him with three VATS headshots.
...I hear it's because they give him nonstandard ammo types and the AI doesn't know how to use them, so it keeps trying to switch to normal ammo that it doesn't have.
Yeah. Basically, he has AP ammo and the game sucks at handling non-normal ammo for NPCs.
So I finished Vault 22. It seems like every Vault in the series turns the games into Survival Horror. *shudder*
And I got a Sniper Rifle with a suppressor and the carbon fibre parts. Spent all of my caps on it but it was worth it.
Amazingly it has a lower VATS cost than the Varmint Rifle.
Edit: I sent ED-E back to Primm but I can't seem to find him.

It's not over. Not yet.You think that's bad? Way til you get to Dead Money...
I always like to do the Vaults in both games at low levels to enforce the Survival Horror aspect. Otherwise they're just kind of annoying.
...Try Johnson Nash's Residence. Near the dead courier.
Oddly, Boone doesn't mind wearing the Armor of the 87th Tribe and a Centurion helmet, even though it has a big Legion bull painted across the front. Also oddly, the custom armor Caesar crafted for a Centurion is way more powerful than the suit crafted for his heir. Even more oddly, said suit gives as much protection as T-45d Powered Armor despite being simple metal. It's also more durable and way easier to repair.

...It's almost like that second suit was meant as endgame loot for a possibly level 50 character, while the first was meant to be worn by a level 30 boss that had to be beatable by a non-combat-optimized character.
Lanius wouldn't be unbeatable if he had 7 more DT.
It just doesn't make any sense to me. The DLC has Improbable Power Discrepancy all over the place when it comes to the enemies, weapons, and armor. For example, a trenchcoat gives more protection than a suit of combat armor.

...The DL Cs are high-level content. Tough enemies and high-end equipment are necessary. Balanced and fun gameplay come before realism.
The Armour of the 87th Tribe was put in because players wanted Lanius' armour (or something at least as cool), but couldn't use it (between him being the last boss and the fact that he doesn't even drop his armour), so they made an extra fancy version for the last DLC and it had to offer equal protection to the Power Armour used by the other guy. Or really, even equal to Power Armour in general, or else what's the point?
This is one of those cases in which you shouldn't take the DT of the armour too seriously from a lore perspective.
holy shit house is played by rene auberjonois
It's not over. Not yet.I'm guessing that you just met him at the Lucky 38, huh? If that's the case, the voice of Caesar, Marcus, Chief Hanlon, and Raul would definately ring a bell too.
If you can find the Nordic Firearms mod, that has a very nice pump action shotgun. It's called the Nyx. Has a ten round tubular bottom mounted magazine, firing two projectiles per squeeze of the trigger.

Careful, as the mod automatically downloaded as soon as I clicked that link on google.
