Though you can also ally with the Brotherhood and just go around Moore. It's great.

What's wrong with wanting to wipe out the Brotherhood?

I like them but they aren't exactly the nicest folks.

Um... because genocide is wrong?

There are decent people in the Brotherhood.

They can become nicer and turn out to be pretty good allies but you sort of bungled that.

Also, if you convince them to ally with the NCR, they become productive members of society and stoo stealing passers-by's tech.

Well, for one thing, they're head and shoulders above most in the area. They're a bit self-interested and the argument could be made that their primary goal of hoarding tech until the world's ready is getting severely out dated, but they're really not a bad group all in all. Plus they're very helpful for keeping their area controlled if they can be convinced to help out the NCR.

The Brotherhood, if left to their own devices, are basically just Raiders with infinitely better equipment. They're a huge threat to pretty much anyone remotely civilized, as in the past, they have had no qualms gunning civilians down for any fancy tech they have.

So of course everyone wants them dead. Just because they have the potential for being awesome doesn't mean they'll stop being dicks long enough for that to happen.

So I successfully did surgery on Caesar and now he wants me to kill the NCR President.

Am I right in assuming the point of no return is coming up and I should probably go do Old World Blues and Lonesome Road before I go and do this?

This is the Wild West. Bandits hang.

[up]You can kill the President if you want, but afterward, yeah. The point of no return is reporting to Lanius.

I think you already passed the point of no-return on both House (killed him) and the NCR, which I think happens if you do more than one quest for Legion (they wouldn't let me keep working for me if I did anything with them after the robots, which is a shame because I wanted to medically assassinate Caesar for the NCR), but there is, at no point, any lockout on Independent.

If you mean locked into the last quest, I think you will get a warning and an option to ask for more time.

Yeah, that does kind of sour things with him.

but there is, at no point, any lockout on Independent.

One of the reasons I love Wild Card is that there's no way to lock you off the path even if you do really stupid things. Destroy your robot army. Ignore the Brotherhood. Convince both the Brotherhood and the Khans to help the NCR.

"And if you had, you know, a huge killer robot at your command, yeah, that would just clutter things up."

"Okay! Consider them forgotten! Along with the projections that predict they'll be our biggest enemy! Forgotten!"

"Really? That's... well, that's a surprise! They'll really want to blow me up!"

"Really? Okay! That sounds fun! That's not aiding an enemy! Not when you do it!"

Also, if it makes you feel better going forward, OWB and LR don't really have any of the "gimmicky bullshit" DM has. OWB has some pretty tough enemies and hilarious dialogue, though it is possible to get trapped in an infinite dialogue loop in one place. LR has tough enemies and lots of radiation. Also, Ulysses.

I'm often tempted to go Legion just to do Arizona Killer. Though I'm pretty sure it's more fun if you save him on a playthrough first.

[up] x 5 Well yeah I was passed the point of no return with the NCR. They are all trying to kill me. I had to slaughter my way through Mojave Outpost to get Cass in my party.

[up] x 4 I don't think I've run into them yet. Well I think I did ages ago when they warned me to improve my reputation with the NCR. But as for fighting them, not yet. I'll keep an eye out.

Although, that reminds me. One of the most common dialogue for both NCR and Legion NP Cs is their constantly going "I hear these badasses are coming to town." I guess they're supposed to be Veteran Rangers for the NCR and...something else for the Legion. Either way, I am anxious to see these people because the NP Cs won't shut up about it.

[up]x 2 Sounds good to me. Thanks.

[up] What is Arizona Killer?

Name of the quest where you try to kill the NCR president.

And those Ranger squads are probably hunting you, they'll meet up with you shortly. If you can survive they've got some pretty nice guns and gear for you to use or sell.

Same thing happens if the Legion hates you, they send out teams of Centurions to kick your ass.

That's the most annoying repeated line for you?

Well, then, let me tell you all about the heat of the Nevada desert. It almost makes me wish for a nuclear winter.

Almost. Then you remember what a Nuclear Winter entails, and you think "there's nowhere to go."

And you'll have a new favorite one if you roll with the Kelsey companion. "Keep your eyes on the mission. And off my ass, please." Or "Eyes up here." tongue

Truth be told the most annoying NPC quote for me is "Some of the slaves have been spreading stories about the Burned Man again."

Apart from "ave, true to Caesar" I don't think the guys I keep passing at The Fort ever say anything else 99% of the time.

Also, I like Yuri Lowenthal, but when he's the voice of half of the game's cast, he loses a lot of impact. Also Liam O'Brien is the other half.

It's just weird talking to Lucius and then remembering he shares a voice with that Powder Ganger who ran out of Nipton.

[up][up][up] I also thought he was both crazy and annoying when I met him. Then I went into Nipton, learned about what lottery he had won, and suddenly his hysteria and zeal seemed mild and understated.

Eh, after the first or second time hearing him, I kill the bastard from outside his triggering distance just so I don't have to go through the discussion. Yes, we get it, you got to keep your life to be an object lesson to the Mojave. I don't care anymore, dumbass. Just die and give me the lotto numbers already. tongue
