Isnt it funny how Moral Guardians threw a fit over Pokemon because it was supposedly Satanic, but never said anything about SMT, where you actually DO summon demons?
SMT wasn't extremely popular with kids, despite debuting earlier. And by the time it got more popular, the whole "X is satanic!" thing died off pretty quickly.
SMT is also not directly aimed at children.

What are you saying? All video games are for children!
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Indeed! Such wholesome, quality family games like Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty keep a nuclear family from the 50's closely knit!
^^^ Except for the Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible series (first one localized as Revelations: The Demon Slayer in the west).
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Sometimes I should be a little more optimistic. Monster Hunter Generations launches July 15 in the west. Both America and Europe will be getting a limited edition New 3DS.
Ocarina 3D as a Nintendo Select? I'm intriqued...
Also, did this silly post with badges.
Nintendo, thou hast become inebriated. Return to thine place of residence at once.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefHonestly, what is even the point of those "Nintendo selects" things? Are they like Nintendo's equivalent of Sony's "Greatest Hits" thing they do with PS games? Cause if they are, I question why they gave that to that game in particular.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Everyone's questioning it. Everyone's even questioning the authenticity of the report.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987This don't look like no lie, that's for sure.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefSo? I don't see why this is such a big deal. It's not like those things actually mean anything.
The thing is that it normally did mean that Nintendo themselves were discounting their own console games. This is the first time a bland third-party game on handheld has gotten this.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I don't really see this as that big of a deal, other than a 3rd party game getting the Nintendo Selects discount.
Well, there's that, and there's this being the first handheld game to get the Select treatment.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987For a 3rd party game to become a Selects title, they set the bar pretty damn low. So low you can't limbo under it.
But hey, stick the name Frozen into anything and the kids will descend upon it with much rabid-ness.

When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefMy only issue is if this is the case, why haven't they made some OOP titles like Star Fox 64 and Kid Icarus Uprising, Select Titles yet?
The real problem with the Selects (and most Nintendo sales in general) is that I already have everything worth getting.
To answer the question, yes, Selects are Nintendo's answer to Playstation Greatest Hits.
They used to be called Player's Choice or something like that back in the GCN days.
And it existed in the Gameboy era already. Super Mario Land 1 (and 2, I think) as well as Zelda Link's Awakening were included there, amongst other games.
The first 3DS title to get Nintendo Selected? But Starfox 64 3D, Link Between Worlds, Mario Tennis Open or whatever, Yoshi's New Island and probably a few others have had the discount for ages now.
Some suspect that it's a placeholder date, since September 20 is the official last day of summer or something like that.
