Well, enough of RED and that room I can't leave before I even find a pattern buffer. I have the assault rifle, now if I could just get over my utter inability to use anything but the weakest and most plentiful weapon I have...

...oh! 'electric sheep'! Okay, that makes sense, and it's cool that there's a PKD reference. Except not. Because I'm not an android (I think?) and there's a new color of Enforcer and my old self is destroyed and I'm in space and there are S'pht in the void and also the S'pht'kr are attacking me and they're invisible? and one hundred and sixty one armless and legless corpses and I don't think that Durandal's a knife except maybe this has to do with the French civilization in the first gTRANSMISSION ERROR

Durandal is a sword actually. It has to do with Charlemagne.

And I just haven't gotten far enough in the games to see The Rose as anything but argh right now.

Two clips per Drinniol. That's annoying.

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.

The titles are on the map.

The Oxygen Meter is becoming my greatest nemesis. That Pfhor ship level where you blow up all the unpowered armor made me afraid. I had to run like hell and blind as a bat before I finally found an oxy recharge.

Durandal is a sword actually. It has to do with Charlemagne.

I know (from Final Fantasy I think), but I meant within the context of the game.

Ah yes, the map. Damn lack of pause menu necessitating return to title screen for controls...

Damn it self, using the assault rifle on the cloak guys won't kill you.

  1. Getting the secretive terminals in Electric Sheep and the levels after it (them) is fucking annoying. I'll just read 'em online.
  2. It's fun shooting Bobs. At first I felt a bit guilty, since they yell "Traitor!" and all, but then I thought "This is for all those dronejams! And Durandal, you kept dropping me into sludge filled with fucking troopers! RAEG"
  3. It's less fun being shot by Bobs. sad
  4. But.
  5. They explode.
  6. grin
  7. Stupid IFF won't update. It's annoying seeing my allies as red triangles.
  8. I have to fight S'pht no matter whose side I'm on dammit

Durandal is a sword actually. It has to do with Charlemagne.

The sword of Roland, central figure of the Matter of France. At the climax of the story cycle Roland and some buddies were acting as the rearguard for Charlemagne's host in a pass through the Pyrenees, then got ambushed by a superior force of Saracens; Roland's rearguard sacrificed their lives, signaling Charlemagne only at the last moment. When he was about to be overrun, Roland attempted to smash Durandal on the rocks, but the sword proved stronger than the stone and created the natural gap known as the Breche de Roland.

Allegedly, it's still embedded in the rock by the town of Rocamadour — although I can tell you right now that that's not an eighth- or ninth-century sword.

It also shows up in the hands of several related characters, such as the Orlando of Orlando Furioso. Strangely not the Orlando of the League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, though; his/her sword is implied to be Excalibur.

Durandal mentions the breakage thing near the end of M2. Apparently Tycho didn't understand the epic, same way as Wicked 223 actually...

Eat The Path is really bizarre. I barely managed to get through forward, and now I'm trying the backwards path to see what I missed but keep getting shot by the fucking grey Enforcers and the shadow Compilers.

I post too much in this thread.

Bobs can survive?

Speaking of which... why are they so ridiculously useless in "By Committee"? They just run at me so I think they're simulacrums, and they don't fire! You know what, wait, this is probably a Mind Screw thing, nevermind me.
