Added the movie character page. Light on details and tropes for some of the characters so far, but should provide a good starting point.

Levelling my shaman through Cata content. Apart from the weirdness of two warchiefs at once, I find it's better than Northrend levelling if only for the variety of landscapes. The "Call of the World-Shaman" line has some of the best pathos in the game. I'm again one-shotting everything.

However, I tried for a while without flying and whilst Hyjal was doable, Uldum got silly when I had to call down a dragon to get up onto a building... whilst the others are plotting an escape. Normally I can overlook the fact that as a player I can escape "We're stuck in this place" situations, but this quest puts the contradiction front and center,

I've XP-locked her for a while until I get engineering up, including making Jeeves. Going a lot faster now that some recipes offer multiple points, and there's no gaps from ammo being removed. Just hope there's enough people around to run some Hour of Twilight dungeons. I also love being able to buy the epic armor sets for money as I level.

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

So level 108 in legion right now and the zones are pretty cool, they are a real treat if you push your draw distance to max.

The only problem I have had is walking off cliffs in Stormheim and then forcing a spirit rez cause I couldn't get back to my body. That is something they need to work on.

Leveling as a resto druid though is pretty painful, watching other players kill their mobs in like 10 seconds and I take like 25. But unless its a 110 I really cant die, I auto heal for 7% of my life every 5 seconds thanks to the weapon talent and Ysera's gift in moonkin form. Although all heals but my mushroom drop me out of moonkin form, the spring blossoms talent helps a lot.

But my god I HATE HATE HATE the new talent restrictions, there is a specific soloing spec and a dungeon spec. To even queue for a dungeon I have to leave the world go respec then wait for it to pop and then fly back to my previous location and continue questing. It is seriously the worst idea blizz has had in a very very long time.

I can't offer an opinion of that system as a PvE player, since I rarely ever jump into battlegrounds and have never once fought in the Arena. However, the idea that I can earn similarly itemized gear from any activity and have it be equal in relative power across all activities is pretty awesome.

You can get 810 pvp gear from pvp world quests at the moment, which are kill flagged NP Cs in out of the way areas in each zone. It's the same ilevel as other PVE world quests.

I assume battlegrounds will drop the equivalent of heroic gear and high rated arena and B Gs will drop raid equivalent gear.

The usual complaint is that someone will get decked out in PvP gear and then imagine they're good enough at PvE to join a heroic raid or something. Then they'll wipe the group repeatedly and get kicked. A similar issue could pertain to rated PvP: "Need ilvl 900 DPS for RBG." "Damn, that Boomkin sucks."

However, both systems have the ability to kick out underperforming players, so it's not like the problem is fatal. Usually if someone's joining a Mythic raid guild or a Gladiator-level Arena team, they'd be scrutinized a bit more.

Despite the secondary stat change, I suspect that trinkets will still be a big factor in raid performance in the future. so PVP can't completely gear up for PVE mythics.

I dont know looking at the trinkets in the beta I can access, they are like exactly the same kinds of thing 'Static, Proc and On Use' scattered all around, some pvp trinkets do not even have stam on them at all.

So it sounds like the movie is worse than Battlefield Earth and is probably going to be one of the big bombs of the year. Now I'm sad.

Warcraft I didn't exactly have an original plot when it first came out, and while they've changed things since, the changes we've seen also aren't super original. I'm pretty sure a critic who has never even heard of the video games can track most of the major plot beats with their eyes closed. What I'm saying is, let's wait until it's actually out to cry doom. Critics hated the early screenings of X-Men: Apocalypse, but what I've heard from more normal audiences is that it's So Okay, It's Average at worst, and "good but flawed" for most.

I thought the reaction was good for the press screening? And reviews are coming out because it came out in France today.

Everything I have read points to the fact that it takes itself way too seriously, the stakes are never really there, some of the special effects are goofy, etc.

The stakes seem to be the biggest problem. The Orcs were a huge threat when the story actually started going in WC 2 because they actually won and sacked Stormwind and that kind of threat seems to be missing here.

If the movie ends without the orcs winning, then a lot of our assumptions about the shape of the film franchise were wrong. We were thinking that the first movie would be Warcraft I, the second Tides of Darkness, the third Beyond the Dark Portal, and a new trilogy for Warcraft III. They might be trying to draw out the first game into an entire trilogy, which... yeah, that could cause problems.

That's just supposition, though. I haven't seen any of the actual reviews.

So what I gather from that review is that the movie tries to introduce loads of loads of characters instead of sticking with a core cast.

Ok, the rogue order is a complete and utter joke. We're a secretive order pulling the strings of history that has never existed in the story and the one rogue who is actually significant in the grand scheme of things isn't even a member.

Garona is a champion, not a member of the council. You've got to be kidding me. Unless there is actual story behind this, like the order campaign explains that they offered and she turned it down, this is just pathetic. I've never engaged in the "slap in teh face, Blizz hates muh class" crap, but having such a major part of the expansion be so lackluster for my class is just depressing.

I have this feeling that the months-long campaign is going to revolve around shanking some Legion lieutenant of marginal importance and Lord Chickenshit saying "Ah ha! Another infamous deed of the Bullshit League!" when it's the only thing we've ever done.

It's still better than the warrior hall of eternal backpatting and being told how awesome you are by NP Cs that have literally no lore relevance.

I'm not going to hop on some hate bandwagon just because my main's order sucks—but the rogue order sucks. The Illidari are much more interesting since they're center-stage this expansion; I imagine the other established organizations—the Silver Hand, the Earthen Ring, the Cenarian Circle, the Knights of the Ebon Blade, etc—will be a better experience.
