My favorite songs are Diary wa Fortissimo, Cagayake! Girls, Utauyo Miracle and Watashi no Koi wa Hotchkiss. And for some reason, I listen to this show's songs more than actual bands or singers. Maybe it's the memories of the anime but I listened "Cagayake! Girls" and "Watashi no Koi wa Hotchkiss" a combined 1054 times and I'm still not tired of both of them.

How did that last song get translated as "My Love is a Stapler"? Isn't that a chocolate?

Chocolate is Chocolate pronounced in a japanese-ish way.

After finishing Higurashi, I was hesitating between starting Umineko and the Fate/ series… so I chose K-On!. Yeah.

Just watched the two seasons of the anime and I found it… okay. Fun, light and cute, with some incredibly catchy theme songs and no bloody deaths, that's just what I needed. tongue

I just find it too bad that we hear only a short exerpt of most of the songs of HTT, when we hear them at all… and the titles of the songs just make you want to hear them >__<

Download the album. It's great.

Oh, so there is an actual HTT album… should have suspected as much.

A whole lot of albums, actually, since the anime was a vehicle to sell as many as they could. Which isn't to say that was its only purpose, but when you're positioned as a merchandising juggernaut, it happens.

Btw, if you want to watch Fate or Umineko, go for the Visual Novel versions. A lot better than the anime.

[up][up] Yeah, as soon as you hear the opening, you know that series has Cashcow Franchise written all over it. I almost find it fascinating how anime and Japanese music are somewhat linked together. The same way many seiyū are singers and vice-versa… it's the only country where these two industries are linked that tightly I think. I can't count the number of people around me who got an interest for J-Pop by watching anime.

[up] I'm sure of it, but are there any translations for these VN? Cause I'm not quite fluent enough yet to read them entirely in Japanese…

Which is why I've always thought Disney ought to have dubbed K-On, including the songs. It would fit right in with their Hannah Montana viewership target.

I like K-ON. Easily among my favorite anime. Can't stand Hannah Montana.

Dubs = cheeky and direct, out of character and not fitting the tone

Original = Just like acting, in character and vocals do bring the character to life

Yeah. Disney dubbing anime = totally not seeing it happen greatly

I heard the Miyazaki movie dubs were pretty good.

Kyo Ani consistently strikes me as the Ghibli of television anime shows. Disney should totally look into being the distributor for anime studios other than Ghibli.

Sit and observe the similarities between K-On! and Disney's teeny-bopper sitcoms today. They are VERY SIMILAR.

That's an... odd comparison. I'm not seeing it.

[up][up][up]I was about to mention those...

.

But yeah. I wouldn't want Disney mis-targeting K-ON. The demographics are completely different.

Cassie, Disney DOES dub anime!

[up]So if they're targeted at different audiences, why is it airing on Disney Channel Japan? Probably because Japan has different ideals and mindsets.

[up][up][up]Different demographics. All those Disney music-based shows? Targeted at preteen girls. K-ON? Targeted at teenage boys (With a significant periphery demographic of girls). Kinda opposite My Little Pony, really.

[up]Yes, exactly that.

[up]If Disney advertised to for girls, I guess I could see it, but eh... not something I want happening.

I couldn't see anything in K-On! that preteen girls wouldn't like.
