I was trying to see the spectrum of expressions that could be made in the humorous style for the Princess. The page ran out of room, so I wasn't able to keep going, lol. There were other expressions I wanted to draw out.
My Twitter!So.. uh.. Can anybody tell who this◊ is supposed to be? It's David Attenborough, but I don't know if anybody will be able to tell.

Be not afraid...^He needs to be looking at a bird on his shoulder.
"Doctor Who means never having to say you're kidding." - BocajWell, in the reference image I used he was smiling at a golden eagle.
Be not afraid...Just an art trade I did for fun! :D. I am really bad at shading :/

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.@ Loni
Bob Hoskins? Ian Holm? John Howard?
^^^I know the exact image you're talking about. I actually considered using it as a reference a few times, but it's really tiny.
"Doctor Who means never having to say you're kidding." - BocajIt is pretty small, yeah. I only wanted to do a quick little drawing anyway.
No. The question, of course, is do you not recognise him because you don't actually know of the guy, or because I'm a terrible artist?
Be not afraid...Richard Attenborough with no beard?

I spent some time on Posemaniacs' Thirty Seconds Drawing tool.
x8 I have no idea. You may blame this on my obliviousness to a lot of stuff, however.
Catching up. o_o
Fallen Legend - Thank you! Also, I like your rendition of humanCelestia - your anatomy is still a bit crooked, but I like how colourful she is (...and her hair) and how you shaded and stylised her wings. :)
Fancolours - Did no one else comment on your sandpiper? :O (That's what it's called, right?) It's very impressionistic but still perfectly recognisable, and you put a lot of detail into the reflection/shadow. I love it. :D
Fulgrate - ...I like this version of Pierra. <_< (Why were you disappointed in the design? Was it just how her arms came out? Or not enough detail? Or...?) Anyway - I don't think either the 'humorous' or 'serious' style looks worse than the other, so if 'humorous' is easier to draw...
Loni - I... um... wouldn't recognise him by his face anyway. <_<
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHullo, Brother of Mine*.
- [1]◊ I think I like the one on the left the best. The mushrooms (better perspective than in the other drawing) and the child (reference to theories of Slender as a guardian, or is he going to clamp down like an eldritch Venus Flytrap? The vulnerability works.) reading underneath Slendywillow just come together here. I love the idea of linking fairy rings.
- [2]◊ Really love the bandages and the red head. It's got great expression. What did you base it on?
- [3]◊ I see what you mean by Uncanny Valley... The one on the left is probably my favourite. The long arms are suitably unsettling, though I would like a big more detail with the fingers. Are the eyes of the one on the right meant to seem off?
- [4]◊ He looks a bit twisted between his torso and his legs. The right leg should be drawn a bit more forward to match the angle. Really like the jacket. Is his head supposed to be very long and thin?
@Talby: Close enough, I suppose.
Be not afraid...Oh - hullo, Yuan!
[takes notes]
- I... am not quite sure how to answer that question without resorting to the mathematician's 'yes', but I was hoping for ambiguously sinister so I'm glad it sounds like that's how it came off to you. :) (Why do you prefer the one on the left? Is it the shape of the tree, or the pose of the child?)
- ...botheration, I knew I spelt it wrong. The cwn annwn are Wales' contribution to the folklore of fairy hounds - white hunting dogs with red ears and sometimes muzzles, which come from the Welsh version of the Elysian Fields (making them, interestingly, hounds of heaven). They usually belong to Arawn, the lord of the afterlife, and were supposedly seen most frequently when he led them out on the Wild Hunt. (I think this one got lost while passing through Jacob's Ladder.)
- Yes - I was happier with Scztirmogauss (left) than Llwnyll (right), too. :P If the eyes are off it's most likely a happy accident - they're both supposed to be wearing masks, but other than shading in the eye holes I don't know what I did to make them look different. :/ (Basically trying to suggest preternatural beings attempting to pass themselves off as human, and not quite succeeding.)
- Arrrgh, now that you point it out, he looks completely bow-legged. >_< His face isn't supposed to be tall and thin, though - maybe it's an illusion because of the cut of the mask? I thought I left enough space behind it...
I haven't finished and 'real' drawings for a while now, but a question: you guys want to see the scribbles of a few pictures?
A friendly flower, and your best friend. He has a knack for funny faces.@ Loni, is it the one on the left or the right?◊

@Noaq: I like the face (or lack thereof), the mushrooms and child of the one on the left more, but the "branches" of the one on the right more.
With the masks, I would suggest some very smooth shading with perhaps a hint of a gleam, and maybe a softness of the features, so they're not quite properly formed. Maybe have the ears more separate from the face itself.
@SD: There's always the "bad drawings" thread if you feel they're not finished enough to post here.
Finally, I have actual art to post. Yay!
"Doctor Who means never having to say you're kidding." - Bocaj@Noaqiyeum: Love the dog, especially the line weight there.
Alright, you asked for it...
SKETCH PARTY!
1 The Dwarf King is quite insecure about his height.
2 A Shadite's glare.
3 Poor David's crazed form.
4 Scout beating the shit outta some poor Heavy.
5 Hope, another character in my story. The character is quite different now, as I've given her quite a bit more thought.
6 Just some random fantasy Merc or what have you.
7 An incredibly stylized take on my Minecraft character.
A friendly flower, and your best friend. He has a knack for funny faces.I spent some time using this learning tool. For some reason it had a preference for equines.
Noaqiyem: It wasn't the design, but the way it turned out. Her close up on the right turned out okay, but the full view on the left went wonky, it is a sub-type of the serious style.
New art. I was trying to expand into a newer type beyond humorous, but it wasn't going well, so I put humorous style versus another style which I thought was good. The shaded face is the the humorous style while the plain hues is the nameless style, characterized by the smaller, more roundish eyes. I definately like the nameless style better, but the humorous style is still easier to draw and just looks to be more vibrant, and I like it almost as much as the nameless style anyway, lol. What a tough choice to make. :D

My Twitter!Fun Fact about me: I don't often teach myself new things in art, I often find something that I like that someone else is doing and ste- I MEAN BORROW IT. Such as when I randomly stumbled across this video-
-and thought to myself "I'm going to ste- BORROW all of this guy's style."
And so I did.

A friendly flower, and your best friend. He has a knack for funny faces.Eureka! I got it! I'll use a more mature style for most of the story, while using the humorous style for exaggeration of funny situations. Yes, thats it!
And good thing I didn't just say, "Okay, I'm just gonna go with this style, lets start this," because I went past the present styles I had and kept designing until FINALLY, I THINK I have found a really good style.
Princess and Knight protagonists.
The heroine is all drawn in a new style, all iterations of her on that page are of the same style with different facial expressions rather than experimentation. On the right, I was working on the heroes overall design, each head a different style from the last, until FINALLY, I got it right. The head at the bottom with the question mark bubble is the hero's design for this story. It just exactly what I was trying to design.
For the heroine, the new style is able to capture her energeticness while also giving her room to be serious. Same goes for the Knight. So I think and hope I'm finally done with the designs now because I think its time to go back to the story and finalize that. It's much easier when I'm using the final designs than if I just use place holders and wait for the designs.
Also, this new design works good for either sequential art or 3D design.
I feel great finding a good design, good thing I didn't give up designing and drawing over and over. Now I gotta decide the color scheme for them.

Fallen Legend: Ah, interesting, I had no idea she brought that across. Could you link to an image of the original form you refer to? Just so I know, since her original form had other subtypes, which makes me confused to which you might be referring to. D: Thanks in advance. I must study my style thoroughly.
Yuanchosaan: Thanks for informing me. I'll use it next time.
EDIT: Also, although I admire the serious style the most in terms of presentation and design, I have the best line to energy ratio with the humorous style and I'm already trained in most aspects of it. With the serious style, although its impressive drawing out their designs, trying to draw them doing stuff is strangely, much harder due to the different mechanics that govern how serious epic character designs behave. = _= Like if I want to draw a paticular expression, I have a hard time doing so in that style, but somehow, I'm able to easily execute it in the humorous style. D: If styles where elements, maybe I'm getting a same-type element bonus due to being a humorous type myself{at the most inner core of my being}?
Or just a matter of experience with styles I guess, lol.
