Some people want to look like a douchenozzle. It's part of the myth of the Alpha and Beta Male. Logic goes, by behaving like a shit to everyone you meet, you exude power and confidence, prompting everyone around you to immediately drop to their knees and worship the might of your incredible penis.
That being said, this attitude is not uncommon among military men because the service takes all those Toxic Masculinity elements and amplifies them. One thing you're taught is to never back down, never surrender, never allow yourself to be intimidated by anything. My DI loved to talk about it. "You are a MAN first and a SOLDIER second and don't you ever forget that!"
I still respect the hell out of that man to this day, but unfortunately, "Go out there and get it done and if anyone tries to stop you, you steamroll through them and keep going. Let NOTHING stand between you and your goal!" is not a very good mindset for civilian life.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Well, yes, that was kinda the joke. Using the phrase in everyday life is a terrible idea. There really are a very limited number of circumstances in which it's OK to use "that's an order."
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Well, I'm going to assume that the silence over the past couple of days regarding my proposed edit to Evescroft's profile means 1) yes, it looks fine, and 2) no, there doesn't seem to be any need for spoiler tags. Inserting edits now...
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.New page. Initial symptoms blie the true nature of the affliction.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So the Spinnerette/Mecha Maid Yuri Dream Comic is finally coming true, I hear.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!wut
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI ain't joking (NSFW).
It's also on one of the author comments for one of the last three pages.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!It may be NSFW, but she sure is cute. :)
(Though Sahira is still my favorite ;P)
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Could use some muscle tone
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt should be quite uncomfortable for Tiger to move his frame right now.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy"Let them go"? Evescroft seems suddenly to have lurched from "determined wannabe hard-case officer who resents superheroes interfering with the business he's trained and authorised for" to "wannabe machiavellian schemer who wants horrible things to happen so he can get the credit for stopping them ... eventually". In other words, from "on the side of law and order, if misguided" to "self-interested outright villain".

= Spindriver =Probably for the best given that the comic intends for the superheroes to be in the right.
What makes someone a villain often has nothing to do with their goals and everything to do with the means by which they pursue them.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Decided to catch myself back up. Surprised to see the story pick right back up from the Glass encounter, albeit without the same level of heavy drama as it (or the White Heron chapter just before).
In other words, it's improved significantly.
I stopped somewhere around the point where Heather tried to seduce Mecha Maid. Not that that was reason to stop but just hadn't picked it up since. Then when I tried to sneak preview the latest chapter I kept seeing this White Heron stuff and thought they'd gone off on some kind of tangent, spin-off comic.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!A few things that don't make sense to me:
- Tiger shouldn't have been affected by the C-K mine, because AFAIK his powers are supernatural in nature, not related to C-K radiation at all.
- Spinnerette shouldn't have lost the ability to shoot webs because logically, she's supposed to still have the web glands... unless she already lost them, and will eventually lose her arms (while gaining more and more of Greta's gravity powers) if the effects aren't reversed in time.
I don't understand C-K at all. It was introduced to be the explanation for all the superpowers, except when it's not. Tiger didn't get his powers from C-K but is supposed to be affected by the C-K mine, while Spinny got her powers from C-K but is apparently not C-K empowered and shouldn't be affected by C-K.
C-K radiation is basically the Wizard what did it.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.It's likely that 'magic' is just natural C-K discovered by non-scientists. Kind of like how certain seaweeds were found to be beneficial both inside and outside by people who had no idea what iodine was.
As for extra-dimensional magic from beings like Minerva... Hey, is that a demonic duck of some kind?

Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Uh, guys? I think the mine did more than just swap Spinny and Greta's powers, if the last panel is any indication...
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Doc's intelligence comes from a CK-field, it seems.
That's interesting.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell yeah, super-science is a superpower in its own right often. I wonder if MM's the same way or if she has just very good mundane talent.
I'm... not seeing the part where Greta and Spin's powers swapped... shouldn't Greta have six arms then?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
Do you guys think any of the trope entries here need spoiler tags? Or trimming down excess?
