I imagine Akainu to have a (pardon the pun) gravelly voice.

That's a good voice, but it doesn't fit the character, to me.

Different actor. I think the anime's is closer to what I hoped. They did keep the same VA for Franky from that game though, according to a tweet by Mike Mc Farland some time back.

Also, if you haven't seen this, see it and then go buy the anime if you can.

Definitely doesn't suit Aokiji.

I know, just seems a bit zigzaggy to change it. Wise, but zigzaggy. Is that a word? Probably not.

They really did that scene well in the dub. Ussop as the manager, Sanji doing a funky voice, Zoro and Nami being confused and dismissive, Foxy's little boxer impression, and the announcer, well, announcing.

What do you guys think is the worst One Piece game?

Big Rigs Over The Road Racing.

I don't get it. How is that a One Piece game? Sorry, I can't find any mention of it on the page. Anyway, for me it is Pockie Pirates, an online RPG. The only good thing is that you have a chance of recruiting actual OP characters, but other than that, it's a boring, methodical game where you have little to do except watch your characters fight instead of actually doing it.

Last half of the episode was good, first half was meh. Overall, much better than last week's and we'll be starting the good part of the arc now.

Also, Funimation has the beginning of Water 7 subbed on their site and Hulu is getting a few every three days.

I think that's the joke.

Haven't played any other OP games, although I will be getting Pirate Warriors when I go back home.

I love Aokiji's dub voice.

I think it would be hilarious if Chris Rock voiced Aokiji.

I've been watching some clips of Pirate Warriors. They handwaved the silly gold aura during the Akainu battle as Ambition, but you can't use Dead ex Machina when the guy isn't dead yet!

And wow, Luffy's seiyuu really phones it in during the Water 7 confrontation with Usopp.

Oh wow english Aokiji is awesome.

Wow Aokiji's voice actor dang.

I'm more surprised by the dialogue.

Also, holy fuck I am pumped for Pirate Warriors after seeing Luffy vs Akainu. That shit was glorious.

It wasn't entirely accurate, but it was entirely awesome.

Aokiji's voice actor. Holy hell. it's awesome (And soothing too). Looking up his voice actor up on Wikipedia, HE HAS SUCH A COOL RECORD. Chiyo's father in Azumanga Daioh, and Il Palazzo in Excel Saga! They couldn't have chosen a better voice actor without including James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman (Who would totally be an awesome Aokiji in live action movie).

Unfortunately I can't really play any of the One Piece games because I don't have the consoles for them (Or I do, with emulators, but none of the good games), but I've seen a playthrough of one of the One Piece games. I particularly enjoyed the fight which pits Aokiji and Spandam against the Straw Hats (I think it's One Piece Grand Cruise or something). Funkfreed makes an appearance yet.

Then you get Enel's fight which involves the little moon robots he found on his cover story. The games all seem to be of varying qualities depending on the platform, sadly enough.

As to a One Piece RP, I would most likely GM it but I wouldn't want to be the main character, heaven forfend. Someone else would have to be THE CAPTAIN!!111! Also whether we continue on from Michael's RP or start a new story (Although this'll be the third time we restart from the beginning. Perhaps we should jump to the Grand Line instead, which is where the last one stopped).

Being The Hero is sort of boring. :/

I think that's kinda the rule that you make originals. Canon chars are sorta presumed to be somewhere out there, not dropped dead. In the RP everybody had original DFs (one of the villains had a paramecia that lets him rot things, there was a World Noble with Plasma Logia, crew had Sheep Zoan along with Chocolate Logia and so on)

...Hey, if a DF has been mentioned by Oda but hasn't shown up in the manga, can we use it? I'll make a dashing, Errol Flynn-esque swordsman who ate the Pun-Pun Fruit.

Actually, I was thinking of rewriting a canon character to suit my purposes. Ramba, the Whitebeard pirate that appeared in the background during Marineford? In this AU, he left after the deaths of the two important people that died during Marineford(don't know how to spoiler tag), and decided to restart his journey from Paradise. I have his entire backstory already written out if I can use him.
