[up]Maybe there were plans for the show back then, but I think they just wanted to wait a while before announcing it.

Last Day of Summer clip! As in, one that has actually been officially released. Looks like it will be an interesting episode, too.

Hey, been a while since I've been in here.

[up][up]Given the production cycle (9 months, I believe), I'm sure they have known that this was going to be the finale for quite a while.

But yeah, it's good they want to end the show on their own terms.

I found an English-language version of the finale on Youtube. It was alright, felt a bit like a "greatest hits" package in terms of a plot, using familiar conventions and scenarios, I suppose that was somewhat the intent. A bit bummed that a few characters did'nt turn up and a few dangling plot threads over the series weren't followed up on, but as they say in the final song, the story isn't over, just the summer.

[up]Saw it myself, and I really liked it a lot. Thought it was a nice send off and I think focusing more on the main characters was the intention because of that. Still, hope OWCA covers Stacy knowing about Perry and Vanessa and Monty knowing that they will break up... when they are on the same side. What I will say however is that you really shouldn't think about the plot too hard - timey wimey stories always get really confusing when you think about them too much (speaking of timey wimey, I wonder if the space-time anomalies were inspired by the cracks from Doctor Who, since they seem to function in the same way and there are Doctor Who fans on the writing team like Joshua Pruett).

I just realized we're never going to see "Meap me in St. Louis".

[up]If the series ended and "The OWCA Files" is the the only standalone special...

EDIT: I noted this reading the production numbers of the episodes: Where's episode 435?

What's the trope for dual-villain redemption?

And now that the show has ended the only new material to discuss will be fan works such as my fanfic about a time loop that threatens the fabric of reality and only a few people know about? [lol]

As expected, Last Day Of Summer was an awesome episode to end the series with, unless you consider the upcoming OWCA special to be the actual final episode.

All around, a good/great ending. I just wish in the final montage song, they had said something like 'Helped The Avengers and Star Wars fight; but we won't include those clips, in case we one day lose the rights (Band : Lose The Rights!)

Watched last day of summer. I am glad this show ended on a high note. Now if only this happened earlier we would have prevented the Wall Banger. But whatever.

  • Finally gave us a Doof-Candace duet, what better moment to do this than the grand finale?
  • "Groundhog Day" Loop is ... my least favorite trope but the show pulled it pretty well.
  • Doof is Nice to Norm throughout the special and in the end we get the most heartwarming shot of Doof, Norm, Vanessa and Perry looking a lot like a family
  • Song breaks fourth wall and confirms that P&F get busted was Candace's dream inside Perry's dream
  • Not only centering on Doof and Candace who are my favorite characters but alsoactually redeeming th. Good
  • Vanessa's lines about Doof being actually good!
  • I am pretty sure Ferb didn't get a line at all? Also Jeremy and Stacy are notably missing.
  • In the last song, Doof and Monogram are together and Doof puts his hand on Monogram's shoulders. This was the series' creators saying good bye and felt pretty heartwarming.

Saw the final episode yesterday myself. I haven't seen P&F in a LONG time- while I still think it was one of the best American cartoons ever produced, I just fell out of the habit a while ago. Still the ending gave me The Feels. The only thing I didn't like: did they have to show that Doofenshmirtz's invention didn't really help save the day? Couldn't for ONCE he have shared the glory with the others? Oh well.

Oh and Ferb did have some lines. He said something in the Null-Dimension (can't remember what now.) Jeremy and Stacy were strangely absent tho. Not even a cameo or mention?? Especially Jeremy, isn't he Candace's official boyfriend now? Tsk.

Doofenshmirtz not actually contributing to the conflict resolution was my only significant beef as well. It would have been a great final expression of the show's typical formula for both subplots to have been integral in saving the day, yet without the characters in each being aware of the efforts of the other.

Despite that, it was a great finale, and as long as "The O.W.C.A. Files" resolves the end of Monty and Vanessa's relationship and brings some payoff to Stacy's knowledge of Perry's secret identity, I would be comfortable saying that I have been satisfied by the show's run.

We got the finale last night here in Canada. So many feels.

Is The O.W.C.A. Files supposed to be an hour-long special or a series of shorts?

I caught the finale yesterday. While I don't think ANYTHING could top whatever they did previously after 104 episodes, I really think a Groundhog Day loop was a bit uninspired. Then of course it turns the idea on its head and introduces new conflicts from it. :D

Spoonjeet is best OTP. That is all.

EDIT: Forgot what everyone meant by Doof not being a part of the resolution so I quickly reread a transcript to refresh my memory: DAMN. They didn't even need that joke, Doof could've just pressed the button alongside Candace and all would be fine.

I'm sure we'll get Empire Strikes Back and Return of Jedi specials eventually, to better ride the train of the new SW trilogy.

Yeah, two new Star Wars specials to complete the original trilogy would be nice to see some day. Also to a lesser extent I know some people wouldn't mind more Second Dimension stories given how Tales From the Resistance ended, and maybe Meap me in St Louis (though if they do that they will probably give us another teaser for an episode that wasn't supposed to be made).

It's been months (or years?) since I've seen an episode of this show, so Last Day of Summer was a giant heap of nostalgia.

I was disappointed that Doof ultimately didn't have a hand in saving the day, but the bonding moments between him and Vanessa were sweet.

There's something insignificant written here, but because it's insignificant, you didn't read it.

Now that Phineas and Ferb has ended, do you think that The Fireside spinoff and the movie will get made

So according to Dan Povenmire, Ferb's real name is Ferbs. Really.
