The funny thing about Yosuke is yeah, he also has severe issues, but he gets over most of them pretty fast once forced to confront himself. Granted, thats more a function of their situation, too. SEES wasn't forced to confront their worst inner flaws to obtain their powers.

I disagree. Both that Yousuke ever gets over his issues or that SEES fails to confront their worst flaws. By the end of P4 it's entirely possible that Yousuke is stuck using Jiraiya—hell, it's CANON if you look at P 4 A, where all the Investigation Team members have their starting Personas. More to the point, the zenith of Yousuke's social link is dealing with his sense of inferiority, and even if you maxed early on he'd still be a jackass until the game script stopped focusing on it.

And the SEES guys get an up-close look at their personal flaws and failings during the Answer when they decide temporarily killing each other is a solution to their differences. It's never spelled out of course, but that's a horrible thing to contemplate, particularly given their resolution at the end to fight together and meet after the end as friends.

It's also canon that Personas can revert back to initial form through disuse. I mean, Teddie's Persona is guaranteed to evolve, yet it's still initial during Arena.

As for the SEES personas not doing that in the time skip between Nyx and The Answer, don't worry about it.

It's canon that Personas can be weakened through disuse, like between P3 and the Answer. Though I say it's because the SEES Personas were drained summoning the Desert of Doors Forms don't change without a *spark*, if you will.

See, the problem with that theory is that the Investigation Team is fighting at end-game level. They've got -dyne level skills, etc.

In that case though there's a degradation of skill in addition to form. Which is *not* the case in 3 or 4.

Specfically, it's Word of God for Persona 2, explaining why the P1 guys join with their initial Personas instead of their ultimate ones.

I am applying it to P4 because it happens to fit here.

In P4, Ultimate Personas just change weaknesses/resistances. The skill lists are exactly the same.

SEES suffered from one form of Bag of Spilling, while the Investigation Team suffered from another.

that Word of God was a explanation for how the characters of the original Persona were not using their ultimate Personas in 2.

also the writers were being incossistent.

Regardless of how the Investigation Team personas got downgraded, Teddie at least went from ultimate version to initial version, so there's no way to tell whether any of the others got maxed out or not.
