That stuff about nyx creating the shadows was explained in the answer too ? Or was it in side materials ? Cause I didn't saw that while watching it.

I have to say, the idea that every once in a while elizabeth grab her persona comepndium, get our thanatos, skill cards him her broken megidolaon, and go punch out erebus is quite funny to me

Oh and for that matter, the answer foreshadows some of the sutff of both 4 and 5. 4 by establishing a persona really just is a shadow under control, and 5 with the cognition stuff since of one of the antagonists of the answer was creating by the collective desire of the SEES.

Makoto's social link is most likely underwhelming for the most part due to the bigger focus she has in the story. One thing I didn't like about it were the barriers. I mean you need to have Rank 3 knowledge to start it (because according to her, you need to be 'smart' enough to be able to talk to her) and to progress fully you need Rank 5 Charm.

So, this Adachi guy is a lovable doof. I've got to say that his traitor-ness is a lot less obvious than Akechi.

[up][up][up]I was under the impression that she wanted to make sure you kept up your grades or something. Don’t remember what the charm was for though.

[up] [up] I’ll never understand why the Phantom Thevies were so willing to forgive a mass murdering scumbag like him, especially given how many other had been called the “worst” or “unforgivable” at that point for seemingly less.

AMEN there.

If you have access to it though once you go back to school in the fall go watch episode 13 of the Persona 4 The Animation, it really opens up her character in a direction that the game just cant go.

Ha ha I just left my friend to get raped by two gay men, so funny.

They do this joke twice too. It's part of my overall criticism where the game has good intentions and makes a good point here and there but doesn't go far enough and even undermines itself at various points.

Yeah that was super annoying IMO. The knowledge barrier isn't that big a deal since you get plenty of free knowledge points from answering questions in class, studying in the diner while also raising another stat, etc so you really should have level 3 knowledge by that time, but the charm was like "really? MAX rank for this?". I'm glad that I had already been working on charm to max out Tae so it wasn't that big an imposition.

Anyways Futaba has joined the squad. Overall her dungeon has probably been my favorite so far and she might actually be my favorite party member next to Makoto. I laughed when I saw her wearing that goofy mask the first time.

4's social links at least deal with the characters' various issues as brought up in the main story, even if they aren't dealt with well (though I disagree with many of the issues people have with them). 5's has some of that but some of them *cough*Makoto*cough* are just shameful in how pointless they are.

That has how I felt about a lot of the party S Links in 4 too. Rise and Yukiko's come to mind as being aggravatingly pointless.

For me, the P5 kids being so pro-traitor in his big scene feels like if P3 team would suddenly accept Takaya. It's super jarring, and I'm glad some characters at least point that they are not forgiving him.

They made stat gates more common in P5 in general. The knowledge requirement made sense since she is a really straight laced straight a student, you gotta have good grades or else your time will be better served studying instead of wasting time hitting on her. It would have made more sense to go the Mitsuru route and require an aced test but you start her link too early to make that a realistic goal.

As for Charm, considering what you do at that step you needed to have the skills to lay it on thick to pull it off.

Honestly she was the one who I expected to like the most after getting her as a party member, straight laced student but when you piss her off she really snaps into Hulk mode. But it’s only that one damn time, I wanted see the party members hold her back, such a waste.

I strongly disagree with that. She gets screentime in the story but never does anything with it and her relationship with Sae is a massive case of wasted potential.

This song needs more love.

Part of me felt like some of the stat gates were a bit unnecessary, like they only put them there because the stat didn't already have a mid or max gate yet.

[up]x6 I agree that the knowledge barrier was not that difficult to match at the time, but the charm barrier really irked me. I wanted to go through her social link as quick as possible to get all her skills but that unfortunately could not happen.

[up]x3 Compared to most of the other party members, she does anyway. She becomes involved in the plot as soon as the first palace is over and even after her palace she still has more involvement in the story. Also, in regards with the story between her and Sae, it didn't start off well to begin with imo.

It's not as bad in 4 though since IIRC it was mostly just dialogue options that were stat gated. I can't remember any social links having stat gates off the top of my head (though I'm sure there may have been, since P3 had them too).

To start some of the links, you needed a certain stat, but you never got blocked in the middle of a link like in P5.

Oh I forgot to mention this but I wish they hadn't made it so glaringly obvious that the bespectacled politician is the guy who sued Joker and also the main villain. I mean, I've only just started school again after getting Futaba in the party but there's no real mistaking where this story is going. Like, I think that having the prime minister or another big politician as your last target is only fitting but they shouldn't act like it's a big twist or anything when they've telegraphed it so clearly already.

You guys were also right about Ryuji and Swift Strike. Ever since learning that he's probably my strongest party member in terms of pure damage provided the enemy doesn't resit/block physical attacks in some way.

By the way, Dragh, you'll probably be happy to know that if you're done with Futaba's arc, you've also passed the vast majority of uncomfortable Cringe Comedy gags in the game (and the game itself becomes darker in tone on the whole). There's only one other really infamous Dude, Not Funny! scene left, and it's not for a while.

I'm at Shido's dungeon now, but that's not important. What's important is I think I've found two of my most favorite out-of-context quotes yet:

"It was our conversation about pancakes, right?"

and

"Don't remember. Drugs."

This game is such bullshit sometimes.

So I'm in the mouse dungeon, I'm finally able to get around some rooms in human form, I go to the room with the four shadows in it, and the FIRST one I fight, one of them uses Nocturnal Flash, makes me dizzy, knocks me down with a technical attack, gives me no chance to heal, and kills me. So now I have to get the letter of recommendation or whatever again, go to the pool deck room, and do all that shit again.

Fuck this game, honestly.

Speaking of bullshit, has anyone else been screwed over by the hide mechanic?

"We can get it now!"

*attempts to ambush shadow*

*Joker casually rolls out of hide formation instead, ending up right in front of the shadow*

*shadow spots and subsequently gets the jump on me*
