I never said that, but notice how the latest bump to this thread was about P5.
There hasn't been much activity in here because P5 is what's hot atm.
I'm not saying people shouldn't respect others on spoilers, but denying Persona talk in a Persona thread seems kind of dumb to me.
I don't really care that much since I'm playing the game, but I'm speaking in general. At the very least, general talk about the game and it's place in the series should be allowed, without delving too far into the details.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Spoilers are fair game in a given thread about a given game or series one month after release. Major paradigm-shifting spoilers are hidden longer out of habit and/or courtesy but technically they are not forbidden.
FYI, something mentioned in the opening sequence is not considered a spoiler as far as these forums are concerned.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWhy did they ever drop the Two Persona attack that shows up in Persona 3?
Fusion skills were hold overs from Persona 2's gameplay. Most likely, they were removed after 3 because the new gameplay system made them either useless or overpowered.
i'm in the boat of persona 5 not being discussed in this thread
like, a month is seriously not enough time for this game. i work weekends and i'm a college student, i don't have the time to complete a 100+ hour game in a month. despite spending virtually all my free time playing this game i'm only just now at the beginning of september.
openly discussing major plot details and spoilers as if i should have completed the game by now is, quite frankly, very rude. especially when we have a thread for that very purpose.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeOfficial rules are that spoilers for games are fair game after a month. That said we do have a designated spoiler thread so maybe we can discuss gameplay here but keep actual story stuff to the Persona 5 thread?
I mean, there's really no reason not to use the P5 thread. Most of the major spoilers are still being put under spoiler tags anyway if that's an issue.
This song needs more love.P5 has its own thread. Both threads have a fair amount of activity. I see no reason why P5 has to be discussed here. I don't actually care if I get spoiled, but for years we spoiled that Adachi was the killer and even now we throw up tags on that whenever someone new is around. Why would we treat P5 any differently?
But nobody actually spoiled anything...
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Lets just drop this before it goes on any further.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well if anyone wants to get Persona 4 Golden, it's on a PSN sale right now. 9 bucks to buy.
We should just rename this thread to the Persona 1-4 thread then. Because not everyone has time for a 100+ hour game in a month and all that.
Also there are still things to talk about with the other ~9 games.
Sucks to not have a Vita.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You can get a PSTV for like ~$40 right now and Golden works perfectly on it.
That, and the first 3 Persona games are also on the Vita through PSP backwards compatibility. You can play every Persona game but 5 on a Play Station TV/Vita.

By the way, have you ever completed all the social links in one playthrough? I'm bad at time management.
Wake me up at your own risk.Yes. Several times in Persona 3 and 4, and once in Persona 5.
Not just Persona games there is the Trails series (A must play, the Cold Steel duology takes a lot of queues from Persona 3/4/5) , Final Fantasy 1 - X-2, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Tales Of Hearts R, Muramasa Rebirth, Neptunia Rebirth series, etc.

The only time I haven't was the first time I played P4, but I cheat and follow a guide because I'm just not interested in managing my time like that.
I've been meaning to go back and to do a max social link run of 4
i miiiiight be able to max all confidants in 5. but I'm going in totally blind, but i feel like I've been making good use of my time
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI've heard it's much easier in 5 than in 4 to max everything blind.
On the other hand, maxing everything in one go requires maxed social stats.
Indeed ya kneed high-ranking stats to start em.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I was two evenings away from maxing everyone in 5 on a blind run.
I've tried following guides for a max run in P3P, but something about following a guide just makes the game far less engaging to me, so I always abandon those runs partway through.

This thread has been anything but dead despite the existence of the P5 thread. That's the whole point of making a separate thread for the newest incarnation of a franchise — so that talk of the new thing doesn't completely drown out talk of the rest of the franchise.
As for "when can we talk about it, it's already been a month!", I don't know about you, but I've been playing P5 pretty much religiously in my free time and as I've mentioned, I'm still only at the end of August. I've got about 70 hours on my save right now. It's a JRPG, which means it's a long game. People are going to take a while to finish it.
I'd say leave the P5 thread up until it dies a natural death. Once that happens, start bringing up P5 stuff in this thread instead of necroing that one. That's pretty much SOP in these sorts of cases.
