Persona series

I'll take your word for it. I remember a couple of the other songs but as for their corresponding boss fights, I'm drawing a blank.

This game hasn't really had a memorable boss fight yet.

I'm split on the P 3 P music vs. P3. "Mass Destruction" is better, and while I think "Way of Life" is a better song than "When the Moon is Reaching Out Stars," the latter works a lot better for the map screen. "Want to Be Close," the first school music for the Male is great while FEMC's "Time" is meh at best. Her second-semester "Sun" kicks "Changing Seasons"' ass, though.

So it basically comes out as a wash for me. But dammit, I respect the fact they made more music. No one would have faulted the remake for using the same music, after all.

As for the rest of the game, obviously I much prefer controlling my teammates, but the complete lack of cutscenes and control of the player anywhere but Tartarus just destroys anything resembling immersion for me. As I put it, if someone put a gun to my head and says "you are allowed to experience one and only one version of Persona 3" I would go FES every day.

Deep Breath Deep Breath is pretty standout, for better or for worse. Which, hilariously is the same song as this despite having no similarities whatsoever.

Male MC's first-semester school music is "Want to Be Close", not "Way of Life". I'm pretty sure that it's just a typo because you correctly said "Way of Life" was the FeMC map music earlier in the post, but worth pointing out anyway.

I think I prefer "Wiping All Out" to "Mass Destruction" but I still like both.

Y'all are forgetting Maya, which is practically a criminal offence.

I actually wonder if Lady MC was deliberately modelled after her personality wise.

Yeah Maya was a treasure even as a PC.

God they need to get on remakes at least the Persona 2 duology. They're sleeping on the best story in the series.

They did... it turned out extremely poorly. Decent story could not save it from the mechanical disaster that is P2's gameplay.

They didn't even fully voice the game.

No persona game is 'fully voiced', only the FFXIII trilogy really has done that rpg wise, but yeah. They did do assorted upgrades to the battle system and some streamlining but kept everything intact.

Interestingly enough those two games were the only games Shoji Meguro worked on as game director.

You know what I meant. The overwhelming majority of the game could of had lines recorded for it like the latter Persona titles - they even hired new voice actors for the dub - but they didn't.

Even with the UI foxes the game is still pretty sluggish.

P2's a really great story that's pretty significantly failed by its gameplay.

Planning to play Q twice, once to learn it and once to challenge myself. Is there anything I need to do during the first play through to make sure everything is unlocked in the second, like how Margaret is NG+ only in P4 and you need to get the true end first?

@FES vs Portable:I prefer FES mainly because of the animated cutscenes and the ability to move outside of dungeons.

I don't mind the gameplay in IS because you get really good Personae easily, but in EP it was more of a problem due to the increased difficulty.

Akihiko is probably the best party member in 3, TBH. He's a Red Mage, but a really good one.

Him and Mitsuru are pretty much the most balanced members out of the party, pairing them with Yukari is like the perfect team.

Aigis is easily the best and most serious character in P3, if there is one thing you do in the game it is max out her slink.

Persona 4 has a lot more comedy than 3 from what I remember. One of the main party members is basically a kids' show mascot character except in an M-rated game.

I had already planned on it. I didn't expect her to be the best character though. Still think that's going to end up being Mitsuru or Shinji.

Apparently Shinjiro gets an S Link in P 3 P. It's like the one thing that actually interests m eabout the Lady PC.

But if Aigis turns out to have the best character arc in the game, that's awesome.

All the guys in p3p get slinks and romance options for everyone but bropei, and all the girls get different slinks from FES. Only 4 or so slinks are the same between the guy and the girl.

I liked Takaya though he made a great Antichrist counterpart to the MC's Messianic Archetype

And yeah P3's pacing is the big problem with the game. They could cut out like 3 months and nothing would change as nothing even happened, not even any slice of life events happen. P4 imo is longer but the actual pacing and events are way more evenly spread out.
