I don't think you really could do a formal study per say, but there is some merit that extreme homophobes might just be in denial of their sexuality due to pressure of societal norms.
though I highly doubt the "most" part.
but I never saw Yosuke as homophobic in any way, though he did pick at Kanji a bit.

Yeah, the more intolerant they were, the more physical signs of arousal they displayed when shown gay porn. While cause and effect can be difficult to determine in situations like these, one of the more obvious hypotheses is that they're projecting some kind of self-hatred because they see their own feelings as abnormal and improper (because of societal pressure). By contrast, someone who's perfectly secure in their straightness doesn't really have any reason to care about how people see them or others.
