I'm not sure if the sentiment is around here but I've seen a lot of people complaining about the Golden anime turning Marie into a Creator's Pet.

Marie kinda was sorta some of that already, but it looks like the Golden anime has it much worse.

Want to know how all the gangs personas evolve?

Because of their connection with Marie instead of any personal growth of their own.

Marie has a few Mary Sue traits I guess, but I don't mind her.

I think the Golden anime actually treats her better, as it actually gives the viewer reason to care about her. She actually is part of the group and someone they care about, instead of someone they just vaguely know via her connection to Narukami, and has an actual relationship to Narukami instead of "social link who he tells what she wants to hear".

I haven't seen the episode in question, but I kinda predicted that Narukami would summon Kaguya to defeat Izanami, since he already summoned Izanagi-no-Okami to defeat Kusumi.

Re: Persona Evolutions: The Investigation Team has no real plot arc during the Golden anime, since they aren't the focus, and, hey, they gotta shoehorn in the Golden exclusive Personas somehow! I personally thought it's a scene that's better than it sounds on paper, tbh.

Well, at least it makes sense. Kaguya is the beautiful alien who doesn't belong on Earth and needs to go away ASAP.

I've only watched some episodes, but I heard they replaced the bicurious cop from Golden with a transexual in Golden The Animation.

That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't the fact that Marie steals pretty much every scene she's in. She took over Rise's singing scene in the band event. And all the winter episodes were basically "marie marie marie marie marie marie" despite nothing happening with her at all.

I still insist that Marie is actually tolerable in Golden Animation, while in Golden the Game, she is pretty much a Mary Sue which the game shoves down your throat.

Ironically, this is probably because the anime involved her more. I guess it just used her better than the game did.

Who gives a shit? The main heroine gets scenes that further her character, while in the home game she was neglected and underdeveloped? Gasp!

Also, as for the Winter episodes, guess what, in the game, even less happened. They were completely pointless in the game, so at least they tried to tie them to the main plot better.

I just think it could be handled without being literally the only focus on the series. It's Lightning all over again, basically.

I guess maybe I should instead say "towards the end, Marie became disproportionately important as compared to the rest of the cast but did do somewhat better in the earlier portions".

Marie in the game basically exists as an extended justification for a Bonus Dungeon.

I'd rather people didn't throw around slurs towards transgendered people.

They also badly handled Margaret taking them to Marie's dungeon.

Unlike the game where the group meets her they all get sent to random places and only Yu encounters her.

Oh. Okay, I didn't realize that was a slur. Never heard it before.

But yeah, from what I hear, this added even more fuel to the Marie-hate fire. Heck, I don't even really like her that much but was able to keep it into a meh and "I really don't like this dungeon."

I think the only lost opportunity with Margaret is that Narukami never gets to introduce her as his girlfriend.

Seriously, I dunno why "Margaret never met the Investigation Team" is a big deal. She didn't do anything with them anyway but give exposition, if I recall correctly.

She at least explained that there were people who lived on that side besides shadows and gods, something they never really considered.

Shrug. I admit, I am probably alone in liking how the Golden anime tied together Marie with the otherwise unrelated and irrelevant Golden events and tried to give her a less sucky version of her subplot.

To folks who were already sick of her, it probably did look like just forcing her more though. Sorry for the trouble.

Izanagi-no-Okami is still kinda weird though.

To change the topic, can I just say how much I want this song or a variant thereof in as a bonus song for Dancing All Night or something. Even if it'll never happen since the character is already the final boss of Ultimax.
