~The lynx lunges at one of the devilclaws' back and catches it off guard, the massive beast roaring as the feline leaves a gash on its neck. Yet devilclaw's mate closes in without lynx noticing. Zarx's human guise is instantly dropped, and he lets out a loud roar.~

Zarx: ZOROARK!

~The lynx turns towards him, just in time to notice another devilclaw. It manages to land a hit, though, and a tiny black form resembling a fox pup◊ clumsily lands close by, staggered by the blow. It seems fine, yet will surely fall in a fight with two hulking beasts. Zarx pounces from the pile of rocks and swiftly heads towards the scene.~

~The projectile lands just in the place where lynx's "chest" was... if that wasn't an immaterial guise of tiny Zorua, who is almost immediately swiped away by another deathclaw. To be precise, it pierces devilclaw's back and severs its spine. Already wounded earlier and now unable to move, the beast falls down like a puppet with its strings cut. Meanwhile Zarxes reaches the tiny beast and stands in front of it, while another deathclaw notices an unwelcome arrival.~

-Legion operates the bolt of its Widow, ejecting a thermal clip-

-It has learned two things; its enemy is willing to use deception to fool it into killing friendlies, and it is capable of disguising itself as something larger than it actually is-

-The geth keeps an eye on its target and waits for an opening-

18: How is this different than usual.

Dash: Long story short, a war broke out, I did some digging, and we found that it was engineereed by another country to try and return to its old glory days.

I was recalled by the government of my country. Since I served with Rainbow, which was now becoming European-exclusive special forces, they wanted me to serve against them due to my insider knowledge. I remember them stating that my experience made me the best candidate for combating my former friends in the field.

Everyone else was given the option to leave through prototype interdimensional technology recovered from an unknown source. Given the buildup of events, even the truth wouldn't be able to prevent a full-scale war at that point, and we were warned that if we left, we would be declared traitors to our country.

Permanent exile.

I'll never see my friends again.

~And then the enemy does an unexpected thing... As does Zarxes. Zoroark enters small creature's engagement range... And seemingly allows it to hide in his mane. It definitely seems like an invasion of a parasitic lifeform... yet now it's hard to land a shot without a chance of friendly fire.
Dabih arrives just in time to see Zarx picking Rua up, while enraged devilclaw is within lunging distance.~
