Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

Did you read my chant of calmness?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Yes. I, however, find the best calm inducer is a google image search for "cute fluffy puppy."
My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope!
I'm sorry for your loss. You should post it on the "Absent people" topic.
Now known as Cyber Controllermeanwhile, in other news:
Good morning!
...anyone on?
My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope! This movie looks interesting too.
They don't look happy.
I like to keep my audience riveted. That movie looks like someone took Pixar's Partly Cloudy and decided the stretch it into a full-length feature film, and not in the good way.
I'm not interested in a shitty film like that...
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I think it looks funny, but we'll see
Thinking about it a little its plot reminds me of Monsters Inc., but with birds.
Could be good, could be bad. Still, any excuse to go out with friends is a good excuse, and this might be one
The film actually looks pretty good in a silly sort of way. Plus I'm kinda of interested in seeing if Warner Bros. can continue making good movies after The Lego Movie revitalized them.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I really miss 2D animated films. The novelty of 3D films wore off around when Frozen came out, tbh. I'm fine with Pixar doing it still, since it's just kind of their thing, but otherwise? I'd rather watch something 2D.
Technically all movies are 2D, because it's impossible to have a film with physical depth to it.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!
Watch Secret of Kells, I hear that's a good one.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I agree, I wish we'd see more 2D movies nowadays.
I think Pixar probably thinks 3D/CG generally looks better, but 2D animation can be very good too. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame was beautifully animated, for one.

CG animation isn't about novelty, it's about how often it turns out to be less expensive than having three to five artists hand-drawing each frame per character. You don't technically need any drawing ability to animate a CG model (though a most animators still start with hand drawing to learn, and you're still a more valuable animator if you can draw), you just need to understand pure motion.Somebody else designs and builds the model and then the computer does the grunt work of drawing it.
You can also do much more expressive camera moves, so directors love it.
I would agree with you that ink and paint can be much more artistic than CG models (at least without a hell of a lot of texture, light, and shade effects). But I also think that the industry is finding CG animation to be more economically viable. And it's disappointing that the business side is squeezing one of the tools out of the toolbox.

Fresh-eyed movie blogI loved the mix of CG and traditional on Hunchback of Notre Dame. That's why it's my favorite Disney film.

"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"I heard a rumor that the reason Dreamworks swore off traditional animation is because Sinbad bombed so hard, which is more because it was a movie nobody wanted and probably the marketing didn't tell us why we should want it. And then about the same time Disney gave up on traditional animation with a general "ah, we can't make money on 2D animation when audiences are going for the spectacle of 3D", but I think the internal reason was "Dreamworks, the company Jeffrey Katzenberg co-founded with a mission of beating us at our own game, just killed their traditional animation projects. If we keep going with those, we'll look stale."
Fresh-eyed movie blogDreamworks sucks.
Long live Disney.
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"Hey, the Kung Fu Panda series is amazing, and so is the How To Train Your Dragon series!
Plus I kinda liked Monsters vs. Aliens and Megamind
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Dreamworks is certainly out-Disneying Disney at producing sequels and derivative shorts nobody asked for that are still good movies.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI can't stand Shrek though
or those last two you listed, Adrian
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"
"Listen only to the sound of my voice. Let your mind relax. Let your thoughts drift. Let the bad memories fade. Let peace be upon you. Surrender yourself to your dreams. Let them wash over you like the gentle waves of the bluest ocean. Let them envelop you. Comfort you.
Imagine somewhere calm. Imagine somewhere safe. Imagine yourself in a frozen forest. You're standing in a clearing. Trees around you so tall, they touch the sky. Pure white snowflakes fall all around. You can feel them melt on your skin. You are not cold. It cannot overcome the warmth of your beating heart. Can you hear it? You only have to listen.
You hear it slowing? You're slowing it. You are in control. Calm. At peace."
The most relaxing chant for you to calm down.
