If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

I love the song too. That's why I don't want/wonder what it would be like if it were Kidz Bopified.

I remember listening to that song when I was little, thought it was catchy so I just danced.

Then I heard it a few years later, and I went surprised, then I danced.

Also, they actually covered Take Me Out.

I've heard of that before. Don't exactly remember where it was...this it was on The History Channel or something.

Apparently there's the original The Lawnmower Man was a short story by Stephen King

It's similar to the movie in that there is also a Lawnmower. However, there are some slight changes.

For instance instead of a retarded Janitor, the Lawnmower man is a Satyr.

And instead of going into Cyberspace, he eats the grass clippings from the lawns he mows.

Also, instead of becoming a computer god, he runs around naked and also kills the guy who hired him to mow a lawn with his enchanted lawnmower (which apparently mows lawns without assistance), possibly because that guy called the cops on him because there was a nude half-goat dude in his front yard, eating grass clippings that came from an enchanted, magic lawnmower which required no one to push it.

I wonder if the satyr would have left the dude alone if he didn't freak out and call the cops. It sounded like was was doing a great job of cutting the lawn AND disposing of the grass clipping, but because the man who hired him was ungrateful that man had to die. There's a lesson here...A lesson about not being prejudiced against someone for running nude in your front yard, no matter how goat like or magic they appear to be.

The movie had a similar theme in that it was about none of those things.. also evil formerly retarded computer guy. The second movie would attempt to expand on ideas in the first story by not even really bothering to include a lawnmower this time. But other than that little fact, it has absolutely nothing in common with the original short story.

Fun fact: They wanted to call the movie "Stephen Kings's The Lawnmower Man" but King successfully sued to have his name removed from the project.

Apparently, he LIKED the movie, he just recognized that it has NOTHING to do with his own, so he had money thrown at him until they got his name removed from the picture.

@Samurai: From what I understand, the little stories are often there more for flavour and understanding of how dream acts rather than to set up plot shenanigans. Although the old story about Dream and his beloved turned out to be important, so there's that.

If I remembered what stories comprised World's End, I'd totes help you more than that.

@ Juan: I see. I kind of figured, but then again, the story about Orpheus ended up having importance, so I thought there might be a chance of having an effect on the plot.

The stories were the one about the city having dream (which was vaguely Lovecraftian, at least in the ending), Cluracan's story, the cabin boy who was actually a chick, Prez's story, the city where funeral rites are performed, and the last issue where the reality storm ends and there's a funeral procession lead by Destiny (if any of the stories are important, I'm guessing that's gonna be the part that's important).

Some of them do tie into the ending, so I'd say read it in order.

So, this is hard. Does a friend try to attack a friend's emotional block to try to help them get past it? Or do they give them space when they tell you not to try helping them?

Okay so I was thinking about 'Hotel Room Service' performed by Pitbull and I realized that Pitbull is no playa.

Because Pitbull took women to a hotel, a motel, and Holiday In.

Now a hotel room can be sexy. A motel room can be sexual. But Holiday Inn? Ain't happening.
