Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

From Wikipedia:

In English, while a tankōbon translation is usually marketed as a "graphic novel" or "trade paperback", the transliterated terms tankoubon and tankōbon are sometimes used amongst online communities. Japanese people frequently refer to manga tankōbon as komikkusu (コミックス), from the English word "comics".

Hm. Average graphic novel length are 96 full pages, or 196 "sides"

I was wrong. But pleased.

"Trade paperback" is the word I was probably looking for but wasn't nearly articulate enough for.

Its basically a single volume of a manga. When used in a non-manga context it is indeed a one shot but within manga terms its the chapters collected from a magazine and put into book form.

A tankōbon would be what I hold in my hand and read and call "A manga."

Incidentally, I finally got around to watching some episodes of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.

It's a bizarrely calming and therapeutic experience.

Appeared in the 2010 movie Sherlock Holmes, a film based on characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. These steampunk creatures were created by the film's antagonist Thorpe Holmes (Dominic Keating), Sherlock's estranged and vengeful brother, also known as Spring-Heeled Jack. The three monsters, a giant octopus, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and a dragon were built in Thorpe's attempt to destroy London and assassinate Queen Victoria.

This sounds like the most awesome film ever created.

The Government and the People are in an abusive relationship. The Government dedicates everything they are to serve the People, only does what the People allow them to do, and makes it abundantly clear that whatever power they have comes from the People. The Government is not allowed to spy on or know the personal details of the People. The People, however, allow the Government no privacy and know everything about the Government. should the Government do something and not tell the People, the People will get upset. Also, the People blame the Government for everything that goes wrong and deeply resents whenever they have to support the Government with taxes.

Run, Government, Run! Get out of that relationship! The People are just using you, they don't really love you! Run!

So is Thorpe Holmes literally Spring-Heeled Jack? As in, has springs on his boots and breathes fire?

"The People are just using you, they don't really love you!"

Pretty sure the People made that clear when they first entered this relationship.

Based on the Wikipedia summary, Spring-Heel Jack has a suit of steampunk Powered Armor.

This really is the best movie.

And he rides around on a mecha-dragon that shoots fire.

And he has a robot wife whom he uses as an Action Bomb.

@Parable: Yeah, but the People weren't expecting the Government to be so loyal and dedicated to them, in contrast to the abusive, manipulative Government that the People had just broken up with.

One day you will fall into a ditch on a cold rainy night. Your ankle will be broken and you can't climb out. No one is around to hear you scream for help while the water pours down on you.

Then that ant you spared will see you and bring all her friends to build a cover for you while others dig up more of the ditch to keep the water from rising. Thousands of and will be washed away and perish but you will survive.
