"Trade paperback" is the word I was probably looking for but wasn't nearly articulate enough for.

Its basically a single volume of a manga. When used in a non-manga context it is indeed a one shot but within manga terms its the chapters collected from a magazine and put into book form.

A tankōbon would be what I hold in my hand and read and call "A manga."

Incidentally, I finally got around to watching some episodes of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.

It's a bizarrely calming and therapeutic experience.

Not gonna lie, that movie is the greates.

The Government and the People are in an abusive relationship. The Government dedicates everything they are to serve the People, only does what the People allow them to do, and makes it abundantly clear that whatever power they have comes from the People. The Government is not allowed to spy on or know the personal details of the People. The People, however, allow the Government no privacy and know everything about the Government. should the Government do something and not tell the People, the People will get upset. Also, the People blame the Government for everything that goes wrong and deeply resents whenever they have to support the Government with taxes.

Run, Government, Run! Get out of that relationship! The People are just using you, they don't really love you! Run!

There is a kind of shameless "I am so full of bullshit and I know it" William Castle kind of feel to the Asylum I can't help but like.

So is Thorpe Holmes literally Spring-Heeled Jack? As in, has springs on his boots and breathes fire?

Based on the Wikipedia summary, Spring-Heel Jack has a suit of steampunk Powered Armor.

This really is the best movie.

And he rides around on a mecha-dragon that shoots fire.

And he has a robot wife whom he uses as an Action Bomb.

I think if I watched that film, my head would explode.

Also, while it's supposed to be shocking, I still maintain that this ad is absolutely hilarious:

One day you will fall into a ditch on a cold rainy night. Your ankle will be broken and you can't climb out. No one is around to hear you scream for help while the water pours down on you.
