If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

It started among the Victorians (of course), but the lie is repeated up through examples cited from the 1980s and 90s. Also a book by Virginia Woolf, and a book by Piers Anthony.

Piers Anthony? I'm no fan of the guy, but isn't he still alive and writing?

At least the Eskimo words for snow thing wasn't rooted in someone's trying to dismiss Eskimo language and culture.

He is apparently still alive, yes. The reference seemed kind of throwaway.

Just, what an irritating thing to say, though.

There's probably a B5 wikia. I'd look it up but I don't want to be spoiled.

Hmmm...

He's named after him because he is his decendent. Cool.

The disadvantage of working over networks is that you can’t so easily go into someone else's office and rip their bloody heart out.

Imagine the Star Wars Holiday Special had come out before VHS tapes existed. Can you imagine how much of a legend and mystique the special would garner if nobody could see the abomination after it had only been aired once?

I'd imagine there's plenty of shit buried deep in the annals of history, waiting to be dug up by angry nerds and put on display laced with Cluster F-Bomb for all to see.

Has anyone ever seen, let alone heard of Ricky 1 before AVGN?

^^^ It'll be a great day when that one gets released/leaked. And I've only just heard about it, too.

realMyst =/= the DS port of Myst.

The latter of which I have played.

What was bad about it? I mean... it's Myst. It's not terribly complicated.

The Nintendo DS version of Myst was seriously hampered by a couple issues. First, the DS' screen resolution is much lower than that of a PC; even with the "magnify" feature added to the DS port, some of the text within certain scenes is still barely readable. [...] The PC version used context-sensitive mouse cursors to point out when the mouse was over a hot spot; the DS has no equivalent to this at all, which led to aimless screen-tapping to try to figure out what to do.

Also Game Breaking Bugs, also a really horrible attempt to shoehorn the new Age they added in realMyst back into a point-and-click type format. Need I go on?
