Sounds easier than plowing through the previous mission in said plane.

Did that too.

Oh, yeah, it's a Sub-Trope of Enemy Chatter. Definitely distinct, though, since Enemy Chatter by itself is reasonably realistic (I mean, you could assume bad guys occasionally chat with each other in many cases) but the idea that everyone uses the same unencrypted single-channel plain-text radio frequency, including military, news broadcasts, civilian radio operators, and police, is... less so.

Did anyone else ever notice that no Round Table ace squadron will follow you down to the deck? In fact, I don't think that they'll fly below 8000 feet or so.

Oh, wow, I just realized that I never actually flew the F-15C in like 12 playthroughs of ACZ.

And neat, Assault Horizon Legacy has an Updated Re-release with Nintendo-themed skins, C-stick support, Amiibo support, and normal mode controls (the Amiibos require a New 3DS and the additional control options require a New 3DS or Circle Pad Pro).

Odd. I distinctly remember several of them going at much lower altitudes for one reason or the other.

I haven't tested with the mission 10 ones, but I'm quite sure that at least Rot and the mission 16 teams won't and I don't have any reason to assume that the others are any different.

Woop, grabbed Ace Combat X Skies Of Deception from a used game store. Initial impressions are good, save for the fact that my PSP gets all fussy if I touch the disk hatch and the fact that lockon ranges seem to be in yards like 4 instead of feet like 5 and 0.

Gets bonus points for giving me a Viggen to go with my Gripen.

Hopefully, at some point, I'll have the whole Strangereal series, either in original or remake form. Don't really care about the real world spin-offs.

Yay, I'm not the only person who plays X! Yeah, the change in measurement units threw me off at first too.

But that's not nearly as important as knowing the exact velocity and frame needed to complete ~half of the hardest version of the final mission immediately after it begins.

I'm not that unused to it - it seems to be the same as 4, which I recently beat, but since I played 5 first, any deviation from that is obviously heresy.

Still, nice to see some of my favorite planes back from Ace Combat 5, as well as more Saab planes, and some not-completely-over-the-top original planes.

I like the original plane with 4 engines.

Because of how over the top that was. >.>

Are ACX QAAMs AC5/ACZ-style slightly-better-than-vanilla missiles or AC4-style fuck-you-I-do-180s-in-place-and-chase-you-to-the-end-of-Strangereal super dead missiles?

[up][up]It's not that I hate over the top original craft, it's just that having some that I can fly without feeling like I'm cheating is also nice.

[up]Remove F-15C, F-14D best plane of all time.

Ohhhh, you mean statwise, not design.

In that case, I very, very, much agree.

Que? What's the big deal with Espada 1's Draken? It's pretty averagely flown for an ace's plane and assisted by a Rafale that's flown well below the level of most ace team pilots.

Furthermore, what does that have to do with my assertion that F-14D > F-15C?

I.... actually played through Zero my entire first time using only the Draken.

I did it for the stupidest reason too, I liked how the Draken looked.

Thats not a stupid reason at all, I used the Draken for quite a while until I felt had a better looking plane. I actually ended up doing the endgame of my first run using the Rafale.

I've done the same with the Rafale and the Gripen each because I like how the Eurocanards look.

Even though I'm sort of familiar with them, I quite wish that ACX used the AC5/Z physics instead of the AC04 physics.

Oh wow, fuck mission 7C and those fucking neutralizers. At least Osea's didn't explode your plane. On the upside, S rank, got the part, and got the ace, all on the first completion.

[up] That does remind me that I've always been surprised by AC's complete lack of any "don't drop a large bomb when you're going to be 50 feet away from the point of impact". It's less jarring when you're using normal bombs, but it's super weird when you find yourself in the center of your own FAEB or MPBM explosion and yet your plane doesn't so much as shake.

Similarly, you lose no speed firing your gun, even on the A-10 and SU-25, which effectively kills half of its own thrust with the recoil of its GAU-8 (or comparable Soviet cannon).
