^ Sega's biggest market for Sonic stuff is the Wii, so it's hardly surprising.

Not sure what to make of the game myself. The tailer seemed okay, but the animation looked off somehow. But I'll hold judgement until gameplay videos come out.

The running animation does look a little odd, makes me wonder why they didn't take inspiration from his Brawl model. Or even just turned his Unleashed model sideways.

I'd say it's early footage, but then again, summer's closer than we think...

So... It's a HD Sonic Rush without the boost?

But... This is just incredibly underwhelming. I'm sorry, it just looks like Sonic Rush with better visuals, and a silly-looking walking animation. Both artistically and technically, it's underwhelming, after playing the visual beauties that are the Lost Winds games, this game looks mediocre in comparison.

Also, homing attack = fail. Still, for the love of God, I hope they don't screw this up.

And the lack of turning animation is utter fail. Seriously. What the hell? It looks both jarring and lazy.

I wonder if the fourth platform(the padlocked one) is PC or one of the portables.

The whole point is retro Sonic. Its not supposed to be Sonic Rush. Its not going to be Lost Winds. Its just Retro Sonic.

Not quite. While Rush does share quite a few retro elements, its not quite retro Sonic.

Then Sonic the Hedgehog 4 isn't retro either! Sonic doesn't look retro at all in that video!

Odd, I found it to be quite retro. Besides, its a teaser trailer. Those just exist to give the more excitable fanboys a change of pants.

Of course it's meant to be Retro Sonic, no shit. But that is no excuse for mediocre visuals. It doesn't have to be like Lost Winds, it can look as good as Lost Winds in its own way. I mean, come on. The WTF running animation, the lack of a turn animation, it all smacks of laziness.

If this laziness extends to the gameplay, so help me...

I just checked the Wii version board...might be around 75 to 25 ratio.

IMHO it would look a lot better if they had Sonic in the retro style as well, I think he looks a tad out of place as is.

Considering K. Balough's statements in the Gamespot interview, it's clear that they're aiming to make this a continuation of where Sonic 3 & Knuckles left off, rather than purely a rehash of the Genesis Sonic titles. Sonic 2 brought new moves and a graphics change; Sonic 3 brought more new moves and another graphics change. So the presence of a homing attack, and the fact that Sonic looks different from his S3&K sprite, I can chalk up as a continuation of this trend.

^^^^ I see your point. But as I said earlier, its a teaser trailer. Sonic appeared to running at the "gaining momentum" speed.
