Yep.
Anyways, I got shit to make shoot and dice to roll.
All this time I'd been under the impression we were fighting just for some planets. This changes a lot for me.
Meh, it doesn't even really matter. By this point we really are just fighting for some planets, since the Federation has no real illusions of reunification any more, or at least the majority doesn't. That's why it was a peace conference over dividing up Lambdadelta, not over dividing up the Confederacy or the Federation.
What does it change for you, anyways?
Oh, well if you put it that way never mind then. Jimmy's just fighting to encourage people on his planet to get out and make more out of themselves and bring home new glory. If it was a war against conquest it would be very different reason for fighting.
Ah, I see.
... Although that is a bit of an odd reason to fight. Tell me, is that inspired by the real JEB Stuart, or...?
No, Jeb Stuart fought because the rest of Virginia was fighting. I did take his general personality though.
I believe I described Atlantica earlier as a rural planet, and that its kind of on the non-important side of things. Nothing important ever comes from there and its overlooked. As a result the people aren't creative or industrious and it seems their culture as a whole is dying. Jimmy is only a small time Knight but for anyone from Atlantica to accomplish that much makes him a celebrity, he's their pride and joy. He's using his fame (and his book) to get others from his planet to go out and mimic him and bring some vitality to their home.

That's actually a really interesting background to him... And also, he's trying to push Atlantica into a Renaissance? Awesome.
Thats basically what his image song was about. Its also why he paints his frame bright colors and has such a cheerful and loud personality. He's trying to be a noble and brave Knight that his people will notice and cheer for.

Woo dang, that was some good work.
For future reference I will be working on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. So I may not be there for everything that goes down.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.Man, I feel like the whole Barnard issue I wrote needs an overhaul...
<3 Jimmy!
Atomic: If you feel that, then you can do it if you want to. Personally, I feel like it's perfectly fine as is.
Personally, I thought there would be more struggle going on for that system as it's the second nearest to both Alpha Centauri and Earth. But so far I didn't manage to incite other players interest. It feels a bit like self-glorifying fluff.

The problem there is not that it wasn't interesting enough, but, erm... They haven't done anything, nor were they around when the game began, nor are they as massive as the Federation and Confederation. Thus, they attract less attention so far, but once they become important the attention will increase.
You keep saying Confederation, it's even in my guide....
It's Confederacy, get it right.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.Oh, I thought that one would be interchangable. 'Scuse me. >_<
Shoulda gone with Commonwealth...
My other signature is a Gundam. The Centauri are a stubborn and responsive lot. Once we make up our minds its hard to change. And telling us we should change just makes us not want to change even more.
Back! Sort of a good day after a very crappy week. It's always nice to meet people who are basically instant friends, even if they seem slightly crazy. For a Materialist Communist Atheist type I've been making a lot of friends in the paranormal society.
@Hydrall: I picture AMF as mostly Armoured Core [I've actually never played before but the google image looks a lot like I imagine AM Fs!] with hints of Eureka, mostly to smooth it and make it more humanoid without making it cartoony. Geass and Gundam are there too, but mostly as after thoughts and are more related to theme than the actual design of the Mecha.

I take it you're feeling good now?
I think we're stealing the themes and styles from Gundam (also some of the plot, even on my end. Yes, I ripped off Gundam without EVER HAVING WATCHED IT. Skill!), the customization from Armored Core, the characters from Fire Fly, and the mechs themselves are a hybrid of all of those.
I am feeling not as crappy, which is a far stretch from good but that's too be expected.
I think it's that Armour Core gives the impression of very real robot looking Mecha which I picture for Mythril Aces. The Spitfire for example, I imagine as having a triangular extention/guard that expands over the head, and from the shin/lower arm to upper leg/arm, very skinny limbs in general with visible hydraulics and very angular/triangular design.

We have themes and styles?
Two spacefaring nations, one aristocratic and monarchial while the other military and federal, with both being in the gray in terms of morality, while the protagonists are quite likely to take a third fourth option and try to stop the war, all with a complicated backstory and lots of asocial people?
Very Gundam, as far as my knowledge of the series goes.
There are other factors, too, of course.
But that's the reason, ostensibly.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....
