There was this before, but it isn't an actual example...
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.
He looks like Spider-Man with wings.
Maybe we should have a picture of one of the examples using a powerful attack.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I thought we voted this one not picturable because you couldn't get it across that the enemy was a serious pain in the ass with just a picture and words.
Fight smart, not fair.Oh, lordy, Red Arremers.
But yeah, despite how much the creature is a Demonic Spider, that's the heart of JAFAAC, you need knowledge of the series for it to make sense. So I vote for pictureless as well.
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation. What about murlocs? [1]◊
(I could probably stealth into SSC and grab a screenshot of the massive packs there or something.)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!You know, they really live up to the title "Kobold of the sea" in that picture. Little monstrous aquatic grunts, but I don't see how they're any more dangerous than a kobold.
I have a message from another time...^^Just seeing an enemy that is an example of this trope doesn't communicate that their difficulty is too high for how common they are.
A related trope, Goddamned Bats, also has an image that doesn't illustrate the trope. Should I open up a separate image-pickin' thread, or would it be easier to work on both here? Both tropes are difficult to illustrate for the same reasons, and have about an equal likelihood of not being picturable.

The Goddamned Bats picture is perfectly fine, Zubat is extremely notorious for being a pain in the ass in Pokemon and goes with the joke of bats always fitting the trope. No change is needed there.
I do, however, agree with the image change on Demonic Spiders, though I have no suggestions.
I wish, I wish, I wish I could have found a screen grab from one of the video game adaptations for Lord Of The Rings, but here's something at least:
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.
You're aware this is not a trope about spiders correct?
Fight smart, not fair.I know, but there's a reason it's named the way it is. The problem is that no matter what image one picks, whether it appears to illustrate the trope is pretty dependent on whether or not the person has played the game.
My current thought for demonic spiders is those damned rats from Psychonauts, but if you haven't played Psychonauts all you see is a small cluster of polygon rats.

But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold. That picture of Shelob cannot be an example, because this is a video game trope.
And Shelob would be a boss, anyway.
I have a message from another time...Yeah, she would. I know there's something out there we can use.
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.I'm trying to find a good picture of a Novistador, but they all seem to be stand-alone pictures or low quality.
Found a pic of a Mutalisk swarm from the Starcraft II Beta blog...
Edit: Here, how's this?
Further Edit: Too small. Dangit.

But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.We need to see a clear picture of an enemy doing something dangerous.
If it ever comes to replacing the picture on Goddamned Bats, I can get a screencap from La Mulana of bats doing their thing.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!^^^^^^^^^ The point is not about if the ennemy shown fits the trope, it's if the picture demonstrate the tropes. Zubats might be Gadammned Bats, but nothing in this picture tells me they are. It's just a screengrab of a standard Pokemon battle. You could change the ennemy Pokemon, and if someone doesn't know Pokemon, he's not gonna see a difference in meaning.
Thinking that something is "well known" is Fan Myopia. Always assume that nobody knows the context of a picture.
The Buffy The Vampire Slayer game has literal demonic spiders. The small ones are facehugger size and can be splattered all over the wall. The bigger ones, and what I think would fit, are as big as Buffy herself and she's best to make like Chris Redfield and torch them with the flamethrower. Perhaps if we can get a shot of a big one poised to strike.

Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursA picture of a Darwinia spider should do it. They look scary in a screenshot and they're literal spiders. The soul destroyers look less spiderey but are scarier.
"This wiki is stereotyped and trite. In other words, dull and uninteresting. We are about showing off how snide and sarcastic we can be.I thought we weren't going to use a spider to avoid confusion?
Fight smart, not fair.Yeah, let's not use spiders.
Actually, the current picture is likely the best, unless somebody can dig up a screenshot from the game giving a better idea of why those spiders are the trope namer.
I don't actually think it so important to show something dangerous — this is probably a trope that is best served by showing us the Trope Namer in as much of its glory that a still could provide.
I vote for an image of a Redead latched onto you.
They pretty much fulfill all of the qualities of Demonic Spiders; you can't do anything while they kill you, they come in packs, their attacks can easily take you out, etc.
OK, so I'm looking at the picture for Demonic Spiders, and to be honest, I'm not seeing much to be scared of. Perhaps the thing has a crapton of HP, or maybe its attack pattern is ridiculous, but all I'm seeing is a demon throwing a single fireball that's missing the hero.
Call me crazy, but that doesn't scream "ridiculously dangerous enemy" to me.
I have a message from another time...
