Heavies have their own higher-level merits. I once played a game as a Magnificent Bastard Heavy, and the enemies I kept mowing down were perplexed that one Heavy could be so hard to kill. I basically held down the base single-handedly while my team wreaked havoc on the enemy.

That being said, I was essentially playing defensively, not joining the fray. People tend to forget that the Heavy is a Defense class at heart. Given his lack of speed, he's not really supposed to rush in guns blazing (that's the soldier). Many Heavies I see tend to focus on keeping up with the team and laying suppressive fire. In that situation, you rely on your team to competently accept the favor, and if they don't, you're cannon fodder.

Heavies can push, but it's not the only thing they're good for. Heavies should move at their own pace. It's better than a random Heavy rushing forward to get himself killed.

People underestimate the ability of a good Spy to cap the intel (or a point). In fact, in capable hands, they're almost better at it than a Scout.

wild mass guessThe new shotgun wil convert the pain and suffering of enemies into health for your building.wild mass guess

I was thinking about a shotgun that could do something like this. It would allow the engie to leave his nest and make up for time he could of spent whacking his gun. AND seeing how the tf2 wiki seems to point out an antenae on the gun, I may not be too far offsurprised.

wild mass guessOh, and we're also overdue for a meet the team video. Meet the pyro will probably come out on the engie update.wild mass guess

^^ This.

Currently I'm trying to fight instinct and not W+M1. I'm starting this by doing the best I can to ambush. Later I'll master the airblast.

Or I might just use soldier.

In my experience, Medic is a good class for a newcomer. I am a pretty new player who started sniping, got yelled out for not killing anything, and switched to medic after someone told me it wold be a good class to start from. You just have to watch over your teammates' health, run wherever you are called (you'll hear the "medic!" crys in your sleep, though. I have a hard time not running at someone's cry when I'm playing something other than a medic), and remember to keep yourself out of the enemy fire. Also, if you pair yourself with a Heavy or a Soldier, you can be a pretty good way to breaking into places (that is, you keep overhealing them - that means keeping them at 125% health, something you get if you heal someone who already is at 100% - and stay in the back while they attack; any damage short of a bomb rain or a sentry gun will be absorbed by your heal, making them nearly unkillable if the enemy can't kill you). You also get to see how the other classes are played, which can teach you a thing or two if you pick the appropiate masters.

There's a lot more to play as a medic, but that's just the basic things that allow you to be at least a bit of help to your team. Also, at least on spanish servers there seems to be a bit of a shortage of medics, so one of them can really make a difference.

I'd go Combat Engie if my team didn't get slaughtered a lot or went through the main entrance rather than the sewers. I used to be one in Team Fortress Classic.

Yes, I am a turtler. Nyah.

That said, I seriously need to work on the soldier's standard rocket launcher.

Sniper tip: When you're starting out, don't aim for the head. Aim for the body with a full charge, you'll be able to kill most classes in one or two hits.

You know what I hate? When people snipe you with the huntsman. Like you're halfway across the map, and moving, and they manage to headshot you? Fuck those guys.

It's more like another preview.

Also, the atomic model labeled "Australium" is just the model for Caesium (minus the kangaroo nucleus).

Things that might hint at a future update:

  • Diagram of some sort of bomb.
  • Steampunk sentry prototype.
  • Parody of DaVinci diagram of a mans arm movement's replacing man with robot.
  • Largely obscured design spec labeled "Work" which appears to have some sort of tank on it.
  • Possible early teleporter design (apparently used to transplant mustaches).
  • Picture of Lincoln showing that his hat really had a gun in it.
  • Map having the exiting locations Dustbowl, Teufort, Gravel Pit/Gravelpit, Badlands, (Badwater) Pipeline, Badwater Basin, Well, and the current not used locations Thunder Mountains, Hale River, Gravel Sea, and Mann's Land.

EDIT: Forgot about that. Removed.

Who wants to bet the Steam Forums are going to see a bunch of people swearing they'll never heal/aid/whatever people who have an australium wrench/don't have one, if they really are limited?

Like with the halos, earbuds etc. etc. etc.

Whoah, so this new shotgun gives the Engineer the ability to avenge his broken Sentry by getting two guaranteed crits per kill the sentry had before destruction?

So if the Engy has this shotgun, killing his Sentry just unleashes an Engineer fueled by revenge.

It also seems to enable completely psychotic Engies who build sentries, let them kill stuff, and then sacrifice them for free crits.

Well hey, they were trying to find a way to allow Engies to be a bit more aggressive, and a bit less tied down to their sentries. By giving them a gun that is only poweful when their sentry dies, they may have just done it.

Of course, Frontier Engies will still have to keep their other buildings alive.

What's the pun on "Frontier Justice"?

I stand corrected: the electron diagram of Australium wasn't based on the real one for Caesium, but Gold (which is abbreviated Au), hence the Golden Wrench.

I forgot that after a while they don't need their electrons shells to be full to start having some on higher levels.

EDIT: Also, "Frontier Justice" is also a reference to how this will give the Engineer a greater ability to the "frontier" of the battlefield.
