So. Apparently this happened out of nowhere...

God bless the internet and it's ability to raise good shows from the dead.
So, wait? Community's back?
I'm kinda worried about the quality. I know people want that 6 seasons and a movie, but I would rather the show just have 5 if the 6th season is going to be a low budget mess. That and some fans are REALLY delusional about what this season is gonna be (someone cussed me out on another forum for suggesting that they had unrealistic expectations).

Worst case scenario, they'll end up going with a more minimalist approach, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The fact that this is Yahoo picking it up means the final season is going to be more a labor of love. As long as the writing is still good I don't worry.
Have you seen the stuff Netflix and Hulu are producing as original content? Yahoo wants to compete with that. And they have enough money to buy and operate Tumblr. I think they're going to be okay.
Fresh-eyed movie blogPlus, every report I've seen says the budget hasn't actually changed any from season 5. Which makes sense because presumably Sony is still willing to foot the bill if they're willing to bring it back at all.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Now all we need is a movie and the prophecy is complete
Then it can end with some amount of dignity.
Fresh-eyed movie blogSony is committed to doing a movie, actually.
Well, I say "committed" in the sense that it's something they really want to happen, not in the sense that the cast and writers are all on-board and the details are worked out.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. That's the same kind of committed NBC claimed to be about season 6.
Fresh-eyed movie blogSeason four's ratings were consistently an entire million lower than the median of the first three seasons. So I assume that NBC committed to season 6 thinking season 5 would reclaim the lost ground, and when it didn't...well...
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I wouldn't be surprised if any hypothetical movie ends up as a direct content sort of thing. Like on demand or straight to online.
I'm willing to bet it'd end up with a limited theatrical release, somewhere between 100-200 theaters, and go up online the same day.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I could see it being a limited release movie. I have 2 questions though. 1)What will it be about? I'm curious as to what the 6th season will be like but I'm especially curious as to what a movie would have. 2) and most important, they need to get Donald Glover back for the movie!
I could not agree more. Even if it's a last second gag like at the end of the movie, Troy pulls up in a limo after having claimed his inheritance or something.
Hoping Donald Glover returns to the show.
Would a movie based around rescuing Troy and Le Var Burton from pirates be too much? Cause I would watch it.

Season 6 to be more outdoorsy plus idea for a Game of Thrones style episode.

I've been missing when we got to see the campus exteriors that aren't the front door of the library.

Cast Member - Keith David unlocked!
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheySo I started watching this show solely because I heard Keith David was going to be in the sixth season (and because I heard it was really good, but Keith David was the deciding factor)
Has anyone here tried using Yahoo Screen? Is it any good at all?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Heads up, if you're watching the show for Keith David (who is indeed very awesome), then you will definitely enjoy this episode in Season 3 (obvious spoiler warning, but just look in the guest star list.)
“I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online.
