[up]Especially 1. Seriously, who thought it would be a good idea to actually lie to your players DURING THE TUTORIAL?

Tear said it's best to haggle a bit. It is a bad idea. Tear did NOT say that customers will come back with bigger budgets if you Pin them. She put emphasis on haggle, but not on striking the customers' fancy, the latter of which is vital and the former is lethal

The worse problem I think is that the pin and customer reputation isn't explained anywhere...methinks is that EGS want players to go through the game in multiple loops first...

^ Sell at 104% normally...adjust for the red/blue thing and possibly if Alouette is buying very good stuff from you...

Basically how it works is that if you constantly get Near Pin/Just Bonuses, your customers start to like you more, so their budget goes up and they start shopping at your store more often.

And for buying items, I think you want to go about 70%ish. Double both values when prices go up (So 208% and 140%).

I remember having made a table on this thread, about ideal buying / selling price ranges for everyone except Euria. Go flip some pages of this thread

EDIT: As it turns out, I did NOT list buying price ranges, only how much should you sell them. Still helpful most of the time

So, am playing this game again and looking around on this thread for missing tips. This post caught my attention.

1. The loop counter matter for the item drop? Should I wait for the 3rd loop before playing the Endless mode then?

2. This mean I should see these very rare drops in the hope they will come up more often latter? Is it really safe? It is already a pain getting some of them, wasting them certainly is not on my list of priorities.

[up] As far as I can tell, we don't have any empirical evidence; those are purely conjecture. My previous offer to do number-crunching is still open if anyone wants to test these hypotheses.

SPOILERS:

  1. The pin/near pin bonuses may or may not be accurate to that chart, and they may vary depending on the item or some other random variation. But those are at least pretty much guaranteed to give you a Just bonus.
  2. Budget of any given NPC is equal to their starting budget plus N tenths (I think) the difference between their max budget and their starting budget, where N is the number of times they've <3'd you.
  3. You can find out an NPC's budget partly from the items they are willing to buy on their own.

I don't know how to figure out how little money they're willing to accept when they sell stuff to you.

I have a text file I update as I play the game; it contains the number of times I've been <3'd, as well as records of what sort of prices they are willing to pay for items.

Anyway, Tear is wrong when she suggests that you sell at 130% and buy at 70%. My experience is that both numbers are lower. Characters' Just bonuses range from about 102% to 125%, and they often say they'd thought they'd get less when I give them 70% for an item.

I find that they are willing to pay over they way over thier maxium budget if the item is high priced and they choosed the item, leading to some ridiculous sells. I also find the man and the old man are the townsfolk that will buy at higher porcentage. And you can sell high priced items over 200% to almost everyone (thank you Cassie for the tip in page 21 it really makes the game easier).

That might be a bug wherein they only take into account the base price of the item.

Dunno if that's a thing the devs will ever patch.

You can post about this at the Carpe Fulgur forums.

^ Oh, high-priced items count 2x their normal base price as their new base price. If you were Justing a customer at 105%, now it's 210%.

Yeah I can sell them to almost everyone to 230% or more and in the case of the man and old man I can make it almost 250% withou having to haggle smile

[up][up][up]I noticed they only pick items they are able to pay, which make sense, so you don't need to be afraid to haggle for what the costumer picked themselves. Even if the item is overpriced, they only pick what is possible to them (and I believe they assume the "standard" 130%/260% for this calculation). It is the item you chose yourself you need to be careful.

@Poochy.EXE,

Hmm, I guess I won't be selling my hard earned loot until I have more concrete data, then. How about the loop 3 thing?

Hey, wait for me before talking further please tongue

I don't know about you but for me it's concrete. You get better loot as you play the game more in loops. But notice that I NEVER failed a single loop, and right now I'm on Endless myself. Might need to grind a while more before I hit the 4th

[up] In that case, I suggest you run an experiment with a 1st loop save file versus a save file that's already gone through many loops. Pick the same dungeon(s), same floors, same adventurer, and try to get as close to the same equipment as you can. Do as many runs as you can, logging all your drops from each run (make sure to label which are 1st loop runs and which are later loop runs!) and post your logs. Again, I'll be more than happy to do the data analysis.

It may be concrete for you, but I'm a scientist at heart and I will not believe anyone without empirical data no matter how hard they insist it's true.

I am inclined to agree with Poochy. I really don't like the idea of parting with my hard earned items unless I know for sure there will be return.

Anyway, there is some kind of trick to get Nagi or something? I got her rather quick on my first loop (I am on the 2nd, day 12), though not without Save Scum. Now, however, I've gone through about 40 level and yet nothing of her appearing. Why is that? Just really bad luck?

I still hasn't got her. I thinl I has only found her two times in the dungeons and I am in endless mode day 50. sad I guees her appearence are luck dependant.

Nagi is luck dependant, just like Alouette's one and only dungeon encounter event. The best bet is to hit Jade Way, as it has only 12 floors (after excluding the boss floors) to browse through from beginning to end. She's available after 1st debt payment, also after the event in which Alouette laughs out loud

[up]Wait, which Allouette event are you talking about?

Anyway, I guess I will go back to my Save Scum tactics. I usually get Charme to quickly check 4-9 floors before reloading and trying again*

, alternating between dungeons/starting floors. I asked because I found her much more quickly in my first loop than this one.
