Just finished The Devil's Playhouse. Loved it, thought it was the best one yet. Is anyone else a fan of the series?

I'm a fan. Not just of the games, but of the original comics and the TV series as well.

I loved both Seasons One and Two (as well as Hit the Road). But until Telltale releases TDP for Wii, then I'll just wait impatiently.

My favorite episodes so far have been "Bright Side of the Moon" and "Night of the Raving Dead". The former because of how well it was executed as a climax to the season without being too serious. The latter because I really dug the old-school horror movie vibe and found Jurgen to be an entertaining villain.

Although I can honestly say that there haven't been any episodes that I flat-out disliked.

I love the series. My only wish is that Steve Purcell would do more comics.

It's time for some THREAD TECHNECROMANCY!!!

So, I got all three seasons during the summer (Ah, Steam sales). Season 1 doesn't work on Macs yet, so I started Season 2 and fell in love with the games. I just completed Episode 304, and will move on to the last episode of The Devil's Playhouse before too long. And now I want to discuss the games with y'all.

I gotta say, I love the dynamic that Sam and Max have going for them. Snarky adventure game heroes are at their best when they have someone to bounce their wit off of, so it's great for the heroes to be a 2-man team that constantly snark at each other. And I like the puzzles, though sometimes the solutions (and the hints) can be a bit obtuse. (Like, in the climax of 205, how are you supposed to know that the Poppers' true names work like Girl Stinky's?) And the hints in Season 3 aren't nearly as amusing as the variety found in Season 2.

I think one of my favorite episodes so far is The Tomb of Sammun-Mak, as well as They Stole Max's Brain! The former because the Astral Projection sets up a very nice additional level of puzzle-solving. The latter because I think Sammun-Mak has an interesting voice, and the puzzle-solving in the second half of the game is very interesting.

Wow. I just finished 305 and... wow. Man. What an ending.

Does anyone know if Telltale has made any indications of plans for a fourth season?

They had better do a fourth season. Sam and Max is just too good not too continue.
Of course, I'm willing to wait until after they've given us their version of King's Quest.
As a Lucas Arts (Classic) fan and a not!fan of Sierra (the writing in their games was quirky and enjoyable, I'll give you that), I'm curious to see how the Lucas Arts veterans handle the series.

After that, though, they'd better do season 4.
Or another Monkey Island.
Or Maniac Mansion.
Or Bone.
Or Strong Bad.
Or Wallace and Gromit...

I find myself wondering what, exactly, happened in Past Max's timeline. The end of 305 has him saying that Past Max turned into an electromagnetically-powered monster. I wonder if all else being equal, they also had to square off with Skunkape and Charlie Ho-Tep.
