Its not like Ash becoming a Pokemon Master, where the term is nebulous and open to interpretation. There are characters who know of the One Piece, who can affirm or have affirmed its existence, and the series has been making steady progress closer to it.
I know you might just be joking anyway, but a lot of people who look at One Piece and only see "Really long series" I think have this wrong interpretation of what the progression is actually like.
I'm half joking,it is funny that they've not found it yet
New theme music also a boxWebcomic Time is very much in effect too. Most arcs take place over a few days at most. There's a usually unspecified amount of travel time between islands, and that actually constitutes more in-universe time then the arcs do.
The whole thing in-universe has taken place over less then three years, and 2 of those years were taken up by a Time Skip where they stopped making progress in order to train.

A whopping ten years after its release in 2024, Expelled from Paradise is getting a full-length anime movie sequel, as per Toei Animation and Anime News Network!
Rakuen Tsuihō: Liberated from Paradise
We got a trailer and a key visual that might give you some questions if you check the shadow…
Anime industry keeps on coming with these surprise comebacks.
So I finally finished reading Hell's Paradise. I kinda chose to read it cuz I heard that both it and Dandadan were written by people who worked with Tatsuki Fujimoto, but it didn't really click as strong as Dandadan did for me. I think it's mostly just a personal taste thing, cuz Hell's Paradise is genuinely really good. The action scenes aren't the strongest (at least, nothing really pumps me up to the same level as most other shonen I've read), but the characters and themes are REALLY good. Most shonen tend to go with stuff about pushing past doubt and finding inner strength, but Hell's Paradise goes in a completely different direction: doubt and fear are what make us human, and it is through understanding and accepting our own weakness that we can gain strength. Lots of interesting philosophy stuff here.
Interesting how you brought those two manga up, because they embrace different aspects of Tatsuki Fujimoto's writing. Dandadan is more about the fireworks of zaniness and unpredictability, and Jigokuraku is more about exploring the human condition. So in a way, yeah, it's mostly a matter of which resonates with you more. I definitely agree that the character writing for Jigokuraku is superb.
Okay so I couldn't find a thread dedicated to Sakamoto Days, so uh, might as well post it here. I read the first volume today and GOD is it already kicking off to a great start. Like, this is a REALLY fucking good opener, the art is amazing, the characters are immediately fun, and the humor is top notch. And the action, hooh...if this is how the action is only in the beginning, I'm excited to see how it is later on. What bits I've seen shared on Twitter look REALLY promising.
We usually talk about Sakamoto Days in the Shonen Jump TOC thread. It does seem to be fairly popular, so I guess no one’s just taken the plunge and created a thread for it. But yeah, the action sequences are immaculate. The author is clearly a cinemaphile and his choreography is on par with wuxia, Jackie Chan and similar flicks.
heh,I just looked to see if had anime yet but the answer is 'not yet'
I'll give volume 1 a try
New theme music also a boxBinged-watched Banished from the Hero's Party, as its a series I'd wanted to see for a while, and was pleasantly surprised when the CR player continued on to Season 2. Only 3 episodes seem to be dubbed so far, but I don't mind the sub for the other episodes.
Peersonally, I feel that the new "hero" Van seems to be a bit.. "off".
I liked the first season but I don't feel like watching the second one. Also, judging by the comments they pumped up Rutis brocon tendencies, which is not the direction I wanted here.
In celebration of the third season, Netflix is dubbing the first two seasons of Kimi ni Todoke.
She/Her | Currently cleaning N/A
I'm at episode 4, and I... don't see these brocon tendencies increased. Maybe because I'm a woman, but I noticed the Tise x Rutie stuff ramped up instead.
The Funimation streaming site will officially be shutting down April 2nd. You'll be able to merge your watchlist from Funimation with a Crunchyroll account (For me, since my account was initiated from the Funimation merger, I didn't even have to do anything, Crunchyroll just asked if and how I wanted to import my history; Otherwise it might take more steps, not sure)
Crunchyroll still has no plans to support digital copies, so if you redeemed one of those digital vouchers or purchased digitally through some other method... Well, it's gonna be gone.
Also, price hike starting next January. So... yeah, that sucks.
My big concern is what if there's some shows they've missed migrating over and just don't get to? Dragon Ball Super english dubs still are not on Crunchyroll. And then sometimes the version of the shows that are available on streaming aren't the best version of that show. On Funimation streaming they used to update their shows with an uncut option after the home video release came out, but Crunchyroll pretty much never does that.
And its always been my opinion that how Sony decided to market this merger is backwards. That they should've kept the Funimation name and infrastructure and folder Crunchyroll into it. But that's my nagging nitpick, and I might be misunderstanding how the merger came about anyway.
Here's a question, are there any dub moments in anime where you feel it's superior from the original Japanese?
Here's a throwback - In Digimon Adventure, (Well, WE just called it Digimon back then lol) Tai's breakdown telling Izzy about the time he took Kari outside to play when she was sick and she nearly died. Joshua Seth is fantastic in that scene.
And to a much different example. Pretty much everything about the dub of "Shimoneta: A Boring World Where The Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist." Hey, Jamie Marchi knows how to approach crass, sexual jokes. And Monica Rial surprised me with her... Uh, dedication, to the sexually obsessed Anna. (If you couldn't tell from that paragraph; NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Please, if you decry lewdness, both the talk of and appearance of, stay away!... But if you are okay with that, watch it, its a fucking good time)
Edited this post with another example, post below happened in the mean time. They meant the Digimon example.

That remains my favourite scene in the entire franchise.
Didn't know where else to put this, but the manga For Some Reason I Started Living with a NEET Kunoichi is getting an anime!
This is kinda big for me, because I actually read the manga for a while because of the artist and kept thinking "man, I'd love to see this as an anime!" (And it looks like we don't even have a page for this manga? Shoot.)

So, do you think Sony closing Funimation's website was inevitable, given their 2021 acquisition of Crunchyroll from AT&T a few years ago?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Yes. It was not a matter of if but when.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. But Funimation is still going to continue dubbing anime, right?
Crunchyroll is technically FU Nimation
Of course, Funimation Global Group was renamed Crunchyroll, LLC, just not long ago.
